Chapter 1

            “Natalie! How did the visit to your brother’s military base go?” Gina asked as she entered her office, which everyone among our friends used as a small lunchroom.

            “It was great!” Natalie said with a smile.

            “More details! Like what was it like? Did any of the guys hit on you?” Jade asked with a grin on her face as she looked from Natalie to Gina.

            “Those military pigs better stay away from my Natalie!” Gina said in a huff as she moved to hug Natalie protectively.

            Natalie dodged.

            “No one flirted with me.” Natalie protested as she moved to seat beside Jade on the therapy bed.

            Gina sighed, and moved to her desk.

            “Good, because then I’d need to talk to your brother…and that’s just plain awkward.” Gina relented.

            “Well…well… Natalie’s back.” Alejandro said as he entered the room behind him entered Jaron who was listening to his headphones.

            “I’m back from Chicago, so sue me.” Natalie said feeling annoyed by all this your back crap.

            “Wow. You’ve gotten even more feistier than before.” Gina said with a lift of her eyebrows.

            Natalie blushed.

            “Oh ho…something did happen.” Gina said.

            Everyone, except Jaron, stared at Natalie.

            “No, nothing happened, I’m just tired of how you guys always act!” Natalie said accusingly.

            Natalie Steel is 17 with golden brown hair, rosy fair skin, hazelnut eyes, and a height of “5’6. Then there’s Gina Alvarez who is also 17 with brunette hair, light tan skin, brown eyes, and a height of “5’6. Jade Lyle is the youngest at the age of 16 with blond hair, light fair skin, green eyes, and “5’3. And Jaron Kelly is the oldest at 18 with black hair, pale skin, hazel eyes, and a height of “5’9. Of course there’s also Alejandro Ribera who’s 17 with long wavy brown sandy hair, and has brown eyes rimmed with green, he has a height of “6’4, with tanner skin than his brother.

            “See,” Alejandro said pointingly at Jade and Gina, “I’m always getting on people’s bad side without doing a thing.”

            “Seech…just give it a break Al!” Jade said with a roll of her eyes.

            Gina simply snorted.

            “I’m just messing around with you anyway.” Gina said with a flutter of her hand.

            “I’m just trying to get an actual reaction out Gina now that your back.” Jade said with a smirk, “She’s been moaning, and moping ever since you left last Thursday.”

            “Shut up.” Gina said blushing.

            “What’s going on?” Jaron asked confused.

            “So you finally took off your headphones.” Alejandro said with a rueful shake of his head.

            “Oh, let’s just eat!” Jade said, as she took her chopsticks and began to eat her bowl of hot ramen.

            Gina took out an energy bar and began to nibble on it while she worked on her laptop. Natalie took some chips from Al, meanwhile Jaron had his own bag of chips. Suddenly the tornado drill alarm was sounded.

            “What the hell?! Its Monday for crying out loud!” Gina exclaimed as she got to her feet.

            The others got onto their feet, although they were rather confused.

            “Come on, let’s go.” Alejandro said as he opened the door.

            “I’ll be there in a sec.” Gina said waving them along.

            They decided to go ahead…

            Natalie felt edgy about the whole thing, but she didn’t want to stick around and then end up getting yelled at by a teacher.

            With one last glance at the Art Clubs Office, Natalie headed out the huge Art Class and out onto the hallway were a lot of people were heading down the stairs into the Wyvern High School’s basement.

            What could possibly be wrong?
