My eyes flutter open when the sunlight beams through the window. I look at the clock and see that it's 7:50 a.m. When I turn around to get some more sleep I feel the weight of something draped around my waist. It isn't until then that I remember Will is still here! Oh my gosh I probably look like a mess. I frantically comb my hair down and try to get up for a shower without waking him. Slowly I push myself away from him only to be pulled closer.
"Don't worry, you look wonderful." He mumbles into my hair.
A smile spreads across my face.
"Sure I do," I reply sarcastically, "but seriously I need to go take a shower. If you want to take one you can go downstairs."
"Fine." He grumbles and I rush into the bathroom before he can see me.
After showering I put on a fitted, blue t-shirt and black skinny jeans before heading downstairs. I start making waffles, my favorite breakfast ever, when Will walks into the kitchen.
"It smells good in here!" Will says as he inhales deeply. "Need any help?"
"Umm, sure you can add some blueberries and chocolate chips."
He raises his eyebrow at me like I gave him a bad job but starts doing it anyways. I go into the cupboard to grab some plates at the same time Will goes to grab the batter from behind me. When I spin around Will's arm is on one side of me and the fridge is on my other, leaving me in a very awkward situation.
"Hi." Will says and puts on that cocky grin I've come to know well.
"Hi." I squeak out as he pulls me closer to him and I put my arms around his neck. He starts to lean in and oh my gosh I think he's going to kiss me! His lips are so close I can feel his breath against mine. Right when they're about to meet I feel something cold and chunky dumped all over my head.
"What the heck?! What is that?" I exclaim only to realize he dumped the waffle batter on. my. head. ON MY HEAD people!!!
"Oh my gosh Lou, you should've seen your face! It was hilarious!" He says keeling over from laughing so hard.
Okay, now I'm mad. You should never try to kiss a girl and then fake her out. Do you know how embarrassing that is? This boy better watch out because revenge is so coming his way. I grab the gallon of milk sitting next to me and since he is distracted from laughing I take my chance and empty it on him. Now I'm the one dying of laughter.
He stands dumbfounded, "Oh you're going to get it now!"
I squeal and run the other direction. He chases after me and I feel strong arms wrap around my waist.
"Ha, I gotcha." He says triumphantly but I don't give up that easily.
I try squirming away but end up slipping on waffle batter and falling down taking Will with me. I land on top of him and we both are laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes.
"You should see what you look like right now!" I say in between laughter.
"Oh really? Have you seen your hair right now? There is waffle batter all over you."
"Hmm... I wonder how that got there!" I say poking him in the chest. That's when it hits me, I'm still laying on top of him! Oh.My.Gosh. Could this be anymore awkward? Oddly enough I'm not embarrassed, all I feel is happy. I roll myself off of him and lay by his side breathing in the smell of sour milk.
"Ew, you are definitely going to need a shower." I tell him, scrunching up my nose in disgust even though, somehow he still looks great.
"Yeah, the same goes for you nerd." He replies, looking at me with raised eyebrows and it hits me that I probably look hideous right now.
