I watched as Matt pulled out his phone,  dialing Shiro's number before putting the phone up to his ear. I bounced my foot up and down,  nervously,  and Pidge put a hand on my leg.

"Dude," she whispered,  as to not disturb Matt's phone call. "Be more chill,  I'm sure everything's gonna be cool.  It may just be a huge misunderstanding." Her argument was reasonable,  as always.

"Yeah," I took a deep breath. "Yeah, you're probably right.  We'll get this all sorted ou-"

"WHAT!? SHIRO WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?" Matt yelled into the phone.  Shiro must be near deaf at this point.

If anything,  that sudden outburst made me ten times more anxious.  My foot tapped the floor at a faster pace and my hands tightened and loosened in rhythm with my heartbeat.

Matt suddenly hung up the phone,  taking a deep breath before turning back to us.

"A-Apparently,  uhm, Keith just.... Keith just, uh..." Matt swiped at his face,  refraining from making eye contract with me,  specifically.

Pidge was becoming impatient,  full of anxiety and worry. "Matt, please,  just sp-spit it out."

"K-Keith overdosed.  He's dead."

My mind went blank.  Everything that happened next was a blur. I remember everything that happened,  but it feels like it's from someone else's perspective.

I stood,  suddenly, knocking over the chair behind me.  Before anyone had time to react, I sprinted out of the house,  knowing exactly where to go. Not Keith's house, no. I went back home to my place.

And I got exactly what I expected,  to be hit and cut and yelled at by my mother before being shoved into my room.

Then I had a thought.

Y'know,  Keith did it... So could I. Everything would be better.  Heck,  even hell would be better than this.  Ok.  I'm gonna do it.

I'm gonna kill myself.

So, I made my way to my closet,  grabbing the rope I kept in case this day came. I took my desk chair,  stood on top and tied a loop into the rope.

My noose,  I thought.

I hung the noose from my fan,  which was surprisingly sturdy,  and put my head through the loop.

"Goodbye"

I kicked the chair.

Game over.
