Narbani Kingdom

Arrows shot through the air and pierced the oak tree behind it. The silver point had went straight through the wood and to the core of the tree. The feathers on the end bristled and swayed in the wind. The shaft had cracked due to how powerful the force was when the arrow hit the tree. The young lady who had shot it scoffed. "No good," she mumbled beneath her breath as she walked through the freshly cut grounds to retrieve it. She had shot from nearly forty yards away, her target being the direct middle of the tree. She missed by mere centimeters. As she walked, she tucked her light brown hair beneath her uniform cap. As a matter of fact, she wore an entire uniform. Her white dress reached her kneecaps, but her skin was not visible, due to thigh-high stockings she wore. Her shoes were completely black and tapped against marble floor whenever she walked on it. She wore a black apron over her dress that covered her chest and ended at her waist. Wrapped around her waist was a blue and gold bow- the colors of Narbani Kingdom's Palace Staff. Her pale skin looked even lighter due to all the white in her outfit.

The bow she shot the arrow with was slung around her body. It was silver, just like the point on the arrow. The string was made of silk, which made the bow an overall valuable weapon. She ripped the arrow from the tree and spun around to return to her shooting station, but slammed into Butler.

"Butler," she greeted in a monotone voice, folding her hands behind her back like she was taught and bowing to him.

She was answered with a low, annoyed growl. "Slacking on work again, Cleremunda? You know your duties and were taught nonetheless. Care to repeat them to me?"

Cleremunda stared up at him. She was rather short for her age. "I must protect the princess at all costs; even if it costs me my life. She is to be kept alive- if not, I shall be slain." His brown eyes met her green orbs for a moment, then snapped away.

"Now get your ass into the palace and wake the princess up."

She adjusted her dress, hid her bow in the bushes, then entered the main doors to the palace. Narbani Palace was the home to the King, Queen, and their only daughter. It was built of whitewashed stone and only the finest wood in the land. The tiles were carved from crystal and placed perspicaciously so the light bounced off of it and onto the walls. The palace itself was huge and had many, many rooms. However, most doors were either locked or closed. The palace was Cleremunda's home- she was produced to be the handmaiden to the princess, making her only two days older than the princess. Cleremunda didn't know who her parents were, or if she even had a family. She was born into slavery for the kingdom, and couldn't escape it even if she tried.

Cleremunda knocked on the furthest door on the East Wing of the castle. "M'Lady?"

"Yes?" A beautiful voice called back, seeming to be coming from far away.

"Are you decent? May I enter?"

"Yes."

Cleremunda opened the door, slipped through, then shut it behind her. "It's nearly noon. King Nar- I mean... Dad... will be very upset with this."

The princess sat on the bed, fixing her long, cocoa brown hair. She had beige skin with no blemishes whatsoever. Her eyebrows were perfectly shaped and dark, complimenting her crystal blue eyes which were protected by long, thick eyelashes. She had a thin, curvy figure, huge breasts, and a sharp face.

Cleremunda's expression darkened. "Up. Come, M'Lady. We must get you changed for tea hour." She swung open the princess's closet. It was as big as any normal sized room and had a beautiful set of dresses hung. Cleremunda grabbed a lace, baby blue dress and carried it out to her. "You're corset has just been cleaned, M'Lady."
