"Jughead still hasn't called." Betty cried down the phone to Veronica.
"Babe, it's been one day. Maybe he is just busy." Veronica said.
"But where could he be?" Betty asked sniffing.
"His dads?" Veronica asked.
"He's out of town." Betty stated.
"Hmm, can I come over?" Veronica asked.
"Erm..." Betty muttered.
"I'm on my way." Veronica shouted and ended the call.

Veronica was walking to Betty's house and she saw a familiar hat lying on the pavement.
"Jughead's beanie?" She asked herself and picked it up. "Definitely his." Even though she was wearing heels, she ran over to Betty's and banged on the door. Once the door opened she burst in.
"Betty! I found this on the way here." Veronica said handing her the beanie.
"Jughead's beanie." Betty whispered. "Where did you find it?"

"On the pavement." Veronica said shrugging.
"Why would it be there?" Betty asked.
"I don't know. Do you think something happened to him?" Veronica stated.
"No. It probably just fell off his hat when he was leaving, I have to move on Ronnie." Betty said throwing his hat on her couch.
"What about the baby? Didn't you want it to have a dad." Veronica said.
"Polly manages, why can't I." She wiped her eyes and went towards her bedroom.

Veronica was on call with Polly.
"I really think something happened to him Polly. Jughead without his hat, that is a big no. He would realise it fell off his head." Veronica explained.
"What did Betty say?" Polly asked.

"She doesn't believe me, she is now moving on. Thats good, but the way she said Jughead acted when he broke up with her; it doesn't seem normal and Jughead is far from normal." Veronica said.
"Hmm, what can we do?" Polly asked.
"I think we need to be a Jughead and Betty. Investigate and find out what happened." Veronica said.
"What about Alison and Jason?" Polly asked.
"Your mom or Betty can look after them." Veronica laughed.
"Okay, I'm on my way." Polly said.

Polly appeared at Veronica's front door.

"Okay where first?" Polly asked.
"Pop's. Jughead hangs around there 24/7." Veronica said. They made there way to Pop's, Jughead wasn't there. Veronica walked up to the counter.

"Pop Tate, has Jughead Jones been here recently?" Veronica asked.
"Yeah he was here earlier yesterday with a boy who looked a couple of years older than him, good build." Pop Tate explained.
"Archie?" Veronica whispered.
"No, not the Andrews boy." Pop Tate replied.
"Okay, thank you." Veronica thanked. They walked out.
"That can be anyone." Polly moaned. "We will never find out what happened to him." 
"Don't give up Polls. Do it for Betty and her baby." Veronica said.
