Astral pulled the lever, tears streaming down his face. He was about done with this. Slender was making him frustrated. Maybe that monster was taking advantage of the fact that he and Pewds split up. He had been chasing Astral nonstop all night It was hard enough to find this generator

Astral wiped the tears away and went to look for Felix. Before he even got a few inches, Slender appeared right in front of him so suddenly, he shrieked in terror. He bolted away quickly, crying. He was so scared. Just then, footsteps came nearer from up front. Astral screamed again and pointed the flashlight.

"S-stay ba-ack!" he yelled, shutting his eyes. He pushed the button and backed up.

He bumped into Slender. Astral looked behind him slowly and started crying again. He was looking up at the faceless man. This was not happening. He was cornered. Astral quickly looked away and bolted forward. The running footsteps made him stop.

No, no, no! Astral thought to himself. No, this can't be happening! I can't fail here!

To his great relief, Slender disappeared. Astral laughed with relief and rushed away.

When he heard the running steps, Astral started to panic again. She was following him, he knew it. He just pulled the blanket closer and rushed on. He bumped into Felix, and they both fell hard.

Astral grabbed Pewds's hand and pulled him up. "Hurry, keep running!" he urged.

Pewdie looked behind them, and he cursed in Swedish while running.

"Have you activated the last generator?" Astral called as they ran.

"No! The last one's hard as fuck to find!"

Astral groaned. "No...why does it have to be this way?" He looked behind him, and his breath caught in his throat. She was catching up.

Pewdie looked behind him and screamed, "TAKE THIS, YOU LITTLE BITCH!" He focused the light on the girl. As expected, she recoiled. Pewds laughed in victory.

Astral stopped dead in his tracks. "It's too soon to celebrate!"

Felix looked in front, and he yelled Swedish curse words when he spotted Slender's face...or not face...Those curse words were then followed by another shout:

"BARRELS!!"

Astral jumped. "Barrels?"

"Fucking Barrels!" Pewdie pointed to a group of barrels.

"But...they look harmless..."

"Don't be fooled!"

They ran past the barrels, and the seemingly stationary barrels seemed to turn in their direction. Astral jumped at the movements.

Did they just...move?

Finally, a red light glowed. The two smiled in relief. Pewdie pulled the lever, and all of the generators were activated. They rushed to the lift and slammed the button down. They hugged and laughed in pure relief.

"That's right, bitch!" Pewdie yelled down at Slender. He jumped back with a shriek when the crazy girl jumped up.

Astral jumped. When he regained his composure, he grabbed an iron rod and slammed it against the girl's fingers, which were gripped against the platform. When she didn't let go, Astral struck again and again and again. He didn't stop until they finally go. The lift ascended at a slow and steady pace.

When the fingers finally let go, they both fell into silence. Astral slid to the floor and took deep breaths.

"This is not good for my mental health," he muttered.

"I know what you mean," Felix agreed. "Well, it'll be morning by the time this thing gets us to the top."

Astral nodded and set the pack down. He took out the blankets and layed them down. Pewds went to sleep first, but Astral stayed awake to write.

"April 1, 2014

Felix and I have survived the bowels of the mine building. Slender man and some other girl chased us. To be honest, I had the repetitive thought of dying. It was horrible. I was terrified. Slender and the girl would not give up the chase! I was constantly cornered by them. At least we have a moment of peace. The calm before the storm.

Terrified but alive,

Chibi Astral"

Astral placed the journal back in the pack and layed down next to Pewdie. He pulled the blanket up and finally let his tears flow. He pulled the blanket up over his head. He tried to keep the sound to a minimum, but Felix heard. He roused and tried to pull the blanket off.

"Hey, are you alright, Bro?" he asked, prying the blanket out of Astral's grip. "You scared or something?"

Astral sniffed. "Y-yes. I-I don't think I c-can keep going."

"I know how you feel, but you don't need to be scared. I mean, I'm always scared during these things, but I always keep going. I just sing whatever's in my mind."

"Th-that's because you play the games."

"I know, but we can pretend this is a game."

Astral sat up and looked Pewdie in the eye. "What do you mean?"

Pewds smiled and wiped away Astral's tears. "I mean what I said. Let's just pretend that this is a game. It'll be fun!"

Astral smiled. "Okay."

Pewds smiled and held up one fist. "How about a good night Brofist?"

Astral happily bumped his fist against Pewdie's. "Brofist!"

"Alright. Just remember that I'll protect you from the Barrels of the world!"

Astral smiled again and settled in the blankets. "Good night." With that, he fell asleep with happy thoughts.
