Elijah turned his attention to the door. Hayleys pack was entering the mansion. First was Hayley and Jackson, next was Josh and Ollie who were showing potential chemistry, and lastly was Kalene. SHe had her arm hooked around the wolf from his visions. After a moment Kalene looked up at him, their eyes locking. It was then Elijah could feel what she felt. Kalene was doing this out of necessity, not want. She’s afraid to love again and thinks removing the marks would change how she felt.

“But it won’t change the way I feel Kalene.” Elijah whispered to himself. At that moment  abroad smile curved his lips as he welcomed the wolves, and cat.

“Today we celebrate your final night as animals and welcome you to the human world!” A loud cheer erupted through the room.

After about half an hour Kalene left the main room and stood alone on the balcony overlooking the city. It was obvious her plan was having no effect on Elijah at all, instead of being upset or angry he smiled and was even more attentive to her. Sighing Kalene put her hand over the mark. She found that by doing this she could see, hear and feel everything he was feeling.

“Oh come on Elijah we could have a good time together.” a dark haired woman said seductively as she ran her finger along his jaw.  Kalene grit her teeth but continued to watch. Elijah smiled politely  but removed her hand from his face and forced her back a step.

“I’m sorry but you aren’t my type.” Elijah said still smiling.

“But I could be, just give me a chance.” She said forcing her lips onto his. At that moment Kalene’s jealousy took hold and the girl was jerked upside down by her ankles as vines wrapped around her body. When she went to scream the vine wrapped around her mouth cutting it short. Elijah stared in shock but could feel the admiration surge through him. He knew it was her. Kalene took her hand off the mark. Opening her eyes, she could tell they were slitted by how sharp everything was.

“Kalene?” Came Hayley's voice from behind her.

“Yes?” Kalene responded/

“You wanna tell me why one of the wolves is strung up by vines?”

“Filthy dog was  kissing Elijah. Unconsented by the way.”

“Unconsented by him….or you?”

“Him. I was just the justice for her overbearing and slutty behavior.”

“I thought you didn’t care who he was with or what he did?”

“I don’t.”

“Then why -” Kalene cut her off.

“Look she’s down now, your pack can leave. Have a good night!” Kalene said obviously embarrassed.

“You know Kale’s sometimes it’s good to risk your heart because one day, a special person will come along and put it back together again. I think you need to take one more risk Kalene...Mason also wanted me to give this to you.” She set a white rose down next to her.

“I love you Kalene, you know that. You are the daughter I have yet to have and it hurts me to see you like this. Just one more risk Kale’s, that’s all I’m asking.” Hayley pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead before leaving and taking her pack with her.

Kalene picked up the rose as Hayley's words played through her head, “Maybe she’s right...maybe he’s the one.” Kalene whispered. Kalene stayed outside until everyone left then ran inside to find Elijah.

“Marcel!” Kalene called as she caught up to him.

“Kalene , what’s wrong?”

“Have you seen Elijah?”
