1~ "You've always been a mom to me"

A/N: I just wanted to say that by no means am I bashing on Patrick or Ellen's wife/husband or families when I write these Dempeo one shots😊
{General Pov}

Today was the day , the day that so many people had been waiting for , especially the bride and groom themselves . It was finally Patrick and Ellen's wedding day.

That morning was extremely hectic , bridesmaids flying around everywhere, flower girls being told that they have to keep the rose petals in their baskets until they are told to scatter them, and just in general people stressing out. Although nobody was as stressed as Ellen herself.
"Ellie ?" Patrick's daughter Tallulah asked as she saw her soon to be step mom panicking
"Yeah T" she responded in a dither
"Calm down , everything is going to be fine , everybody is exactly where they need to be and everything is going as planned , I also ran into dad in the hallway and he asked me to give you this" she replied trying to calm Ellen down as she handed her a note that her father had written that read,

"My dearest Ellie ,
Today's the day , we're getting married! I can't wait to see you walk down that aisle looking like the angel you always do. Calm down my love , I know you like the back of my hand and I know you'll be stressing but relax babe everything will be fine, the next time I see you you'll be Mrs Dempsey.
All my love Patrick"

Tears welled up in Ellen's eyes as she read the heartfelt note , between that and Tallulah's help she began to calm down. As Tallulah began to exit the room Ellen finally said something to her that she'd wanted to say for a while.
"Tal"
"Yeah El?"
"I just want you to know that it's ok if you're mad at me for marrying your dad and I don't know sorta breaking up your parents marriage , I hope you know that I never planned to hurt anybody it just kind of happened, but I just want you to know that it's ok if you feel kinda mad and resent me a bit"
"Oh my god Ellen no , I couldn't hate you , listen I knew since I was about eight years old that my mom and dad just weren't right for each other , but I've also known since then that you and my dad are , Ellie the only other time I've seen dad's eyes light up the way they do when you enter the room , is when he looks at me or the twins, he adores you El , you make him happier than I've ever seen him and for that I could never hate you , not that I could ever hate you anyway" she responded as she wrapped her arms around Ellen , the hug that was needed by both women.
"Besides , I need you around otherwise I think my dad would've beat my boyfriend to a pulp by now if it wasn't for you" Tallulah replied with a chuckle as she tried to stop the tears from spilling out of both of their eyes, and it was exactly in this moment that Ellen realised how grown up and how mature the little eight year old girl Ellen was first introduced to had become , now eighteen and successful.
"Thank you Tal , you had no idea how much I needed to hear that from you" Ellen replied with a soft smile hugging the girl once again.

"It's ok El , besides you've always been a sort of mom to me and I couldn't have asked for a better second mom , you took on myself , Sully and Darby without hesitation and without having to be asked because you love us and my dad so much , you are a role model Ellie , the kind of role model any girl needs , I love you Ellen Pompeo and don't forget that because the next time I say that it will be Ellen Pompeo-Dempsey" she said with a little chuckle, Ellen's eyes welled up with tears again as she replied in a soft whisper
"I love you too Tallulah"
"Now then" she responded as she wiped her eyes "let's go get you married to my dad" and before they shed anymore tears they walked out hand in hand ready to start the rest of their lives as official family members.
