Jessica POV
After about another hour, Ethan and I headed out to his truck. He rested a hand on the small of my back, making me shiver. Ethan slid his leather jacket off his broad shoulders and put it around mine, although I wasn't shivering from the cold.
His truck was red and dirty, and I sat awkwardly in the passenger seat while he fiddled with the heat.
"Um." I tugged on the hem of my skirt. "Thanks for the ride."
Ethan smiled, making his blue eyes sparkle. This close, I could see that they had little spots of gold in them. "No problem."
Putting the car in drive, he pulled out of the driveway and onto the street. "So, how do'ya like Harris High?" He asked, turning out of the subdivision.
"It's nice, I guess."
"Why did you move?"
"Um. Ah...no reason." He quirked a single eyebrow at me but made no comment. I raised my hand and pointed out the windshield. "Um. Just turn right up here."
But Ethan turned left.
