Ethan POV
The party was Friday night. I didn't see Jessica again until school on Monday. I had 2nd period Calculus and 7th period English with her, but she didn't acknowledge me during either. So between English and 8th period, I waited for her beside her locker, which I may or may not have watched her walk to after Calculus that morning.
When she rounded the corner and saw me standing there, she glanced down at the books in her hand and back up at her locker, debating whether she really needed to stop at her locker after all. Eventually she walked forward, not looking at me, which I had already started to get used to.
"Hey there." I said as she began putting in her combination.
"What do you want?"
"So friendly." I teased lightly, nudging her gently with my shoulder, but Jessica wasn't smiling. "Anyway, I believe I was promised a date."
