Wow.
Just wow.
That was the one word I thought when I walk out of the shower after getting changed into Dakota's clothes. You want to know why my brain went bye bye? Easy, I can explain it in one word too!
Dakota.
He just got of the shower with his body still carrying water droplets on it, and all he had was on were ripped jeans. His back was facing me, and oh my lovely! Those muscles! I almost turned to Pilla mush right there. I would feel sorry for whoever had to clean me up.
Our mate is such a hottie. We should let him mark us right now. Lune yipped excitedly. What's marking?
I cleared my throat to let myself be know, and Dakota whirled around. He broke into his trillion dollar smile, "You look breath taking, Droplet. Like always." He walked over to me and hugged me.
Oh. My. Good. Lord.
He smelled amazing! He no longer stank like a skunk ate a rotting skunk, but woodsy. Thank god, I even saw some of the pack members plug their noses and purposefully avoid him. Yeah. He stank that bad.
"Seriously, Kota? I'm wearing your clothes, again." I rolled my eyes, and he looked at me blankly like 'how could you not like looking like you're melting in my clothes?'.
"I like it that way! No other males will come near you." He tried to reason with me, but I'm not going to give in that easily. "Dakota, seriously, I need new clothes. Just take me to town and I'll get a job where I can still go to school." His eyes darkened.
"No mate of mine is getting a job to pay for her clothes. We'll finish this talk later, right now we need to get to training." Darn. I was hoping he'd forget.
We walked out (after Dakota got a shirt on) and went to the Elder's library. It still amazes me how beautiful all the books were; how they seeped life. They lured me in with just words.
Artos was sitting in one of the chairs by the unlit fireplace. "Children, come, let us start easy." He said hobbling up. Dakota and I looked unsure at each other, like define easy.
"Sit." He quickly hobble over to a shelf full of book and pulled out eight thick, dusty, worn out books. Artos dropped them on a little table that was between our chairs, and I swear I heard a table leg crack.
Wow. That's just...wow. Those are some big books, but guess what? I like big books and I can not lie.
I stared in wonder at them, but Dakota looked...scared. "Elder, we're not reading through all of those...are we?" He gulped, and I laughed. What? I'm not the sweetest person ok!
Artos rolled his eyes, "Children nowadays. No alpha, you are not reading through all of them; just the the few chapters that are about Rono and Lune."
I picked up one and read the cover, "Werewolf Sacrifices and Werewolves with Power"...oh. Isn't that pleasant? I opened the book, and the wave of old book smell hit my nose; I couldn't help but breathe it in.
I skimmed the index for something about Lune or Quina. Werewolves really like to sacrifice, let me say that. There were at least eighty chapters that were well over twenty pages long, and when I finally saw Quina; I turned to that chapter and found it was only two pages long.
Ok?
I started to read and this is what it said:
Not much is known about this sacrifice, but this story fits into both sacrifice and power category. The sacrifice was conducted on a girl of age 18. Quina, the girl, was blessed with the strongest wolf in the history of our kind. The moon goddess's wolf, Lune.
Lune possessed the power to make things hover, speed, and if near mate the power heal. Her mate Rono, possessed the power of strength, and if near mate the ability to drain the enemy's strength.
Ok, that's neato! I'm like a magic wolf thing! Wait... I am a magic wolf thing.
I showed Dakota the bit on his wolf, and he went bonkers. "This means I can protect you more!" He shouted happily. Oh dear lord, help me with this boy.
The rest of the day was spent looking over the books, but nothing else was new. "Alpha, Luna, please go rest. I believe you have school tomorrow so no training for tomorrow."
We said our goodbyes and walked out into the hallway and back into our room. I like that. Our room. It makes it feel special.
When we walked into it, Dakota ran and collapsed on the bed. "You're going shopping with the girls and me tomorrow after school. Goodnight!" He mumbled and fell asleep not even taking off his clothes. Loud snores soon escaped his mouth.
Lazy.
I stripped in the bathroom and snuggled under the covers. Get a good night rest honey. We have school tomorrow. Lune whispered in my head. "Thank you Lune. Good night." I told her before falling to sleep myself.
