Finding your place

slowly and softly the wind blows against the willow trees that surround us,

whispering hushed secrets to us as the branches sway back and forth in the glistenign sun,

we lay in pain of life on the harsh, damp ground of the underbrush,

staring towards the sky as if it could provide us with the answers and the meaning of life,

looking for a glimpse of hope, or a glimmer of future happiness in the drifting clouds,

a sign maybe through the dimming sunset,

we lay numb,

we lay silent,

wishing that somehow we could melt into the earth beneath us and just disappear,

the sun setting above us as everything begins to darken,

oh simple, lost souls,

you forget that the world does not care nor wait for anyone,

now you lay in darkness,

the drunken darkness that seems to lull your pain,

you have separated yourself from the world,

you wished you got a sign in the sky,

you wished you knew the secrets and the meaning of life,

you wished the pain would go away,

you wished that the sun cared enough that it didnt set and leave you in darkness,

but look up,

your pain, your anguish has bought you to a different place,

look at the millions of twinkling stars that surround you,

a marvelous design on a black canvas,

each one flashing blue and purple with the promise of tomorrow,

you find your place in the world,

a quiet place where you can think and dream,

you find your place in the world,

but the answers are up to you to find,

and the signs dont exist,

oh simple soul,

dont waste your life in pain and anguish,

the world will not give you the answers,

only you can,

so as the sun rises,

get up,

you've found your place in the world,

now you must find your own happiness,

you must find your own answers.
