Chapter 23

Mason had gotten tixs to the Lakers game tonight saying something about his father wanting to mend their (non-existent) relationship and so he’d gotten them some of the best seats in the stadium.

"f@#kin' Lakers tickets" Mason had screamed "the f@#ker wants to buy his way in?"

"Didn’t think you were ever much of a 'daddy's boy' I said using air quotations.

"He's lucky I even /like/ basketball".

Brooklyn had no trouble finding her seats; apparently this was some sort of A-lister seating section considering she saw a few of her wealthier friends.

"Oh my gosh" Gigi whispered after about 5 minutes,

"What?"

"Mason's here with Dylan"

"No wa-" Brooklyn began but stopped upon turning and spotting them.

"Hey look who's here?" Mase said waving into the crowd a few seats below us. I looked up to see that he was referring to Brooklyn and Gigi.

Gigi waved but Brooklyn simply smiled.

"Where the heck is Pablo?" Brooklyn hissed to Gigi.

"Well I wouldn’t know, why don't you call him".

"I tried but he's not picking up like what’s with that?.

The game went on, I wasn’t really paying attention. What I really wanted was for half-time to come so I could avoid bothering the crowd on my way to talk to Brooklyn.

Brooklyn looked at the time on her Versace gold plaited watch to see that it was almost 5.45pm and half time was around the corner. She had called him and left 15 voicemail messages in total; yelling every possible profanity at him for basically standing her up.

The whistle blew for half-time and the lights turned off. A few girls in the stadium squealed whilst a few of the people who were getting up stumbled over the stairs before regaining balance. "What do you thinks going on?" Gigi,

"I don't know but where the f#*k is Pablo" Brooklyn hissed back, just as she finished speaking the words a spotlight shined on the centre court.

"What the hell's going on?" Mason yelled getting frustrated,

"How the f#*k would I know" Just then a particular lucky bastards voice began through the loud speakers,

"I know I haven't been around much Brooklyn" Pablo began as he walked towards the spotlight, the tap of his shoes echoing through the stadium. Brooklyn gasped. "I want you to know that whenever we're apart I wish that we're together... I love you. More than anything in the world I love you and I’m giving you all of me and I’m hoping that you'll do the same for me" a few women in the crowed sighed in admiration. But I’m pretty sure most of the men rolled their eyes like I just did.

Getting down on one knee in the spotlight he began in French before he translated for the audience "Brooklyn St. Pierre will you do me the greatest honour of becoming my wife?".
