It Takes Two

"Buenos Días." Lauren hears and is woken from her sleep.
"What the-" Lauren muffles.
"Come on sleepy head, get up. I'd like to eat now."
Lauren's eyes finally popped open.
"Selena?"

There she was, giggling, cellphone in her hand and in denim shorts with a tank that accented her figure.
"Do you not want to have breakfast with me or what?" Selena inched closer to Lauren.
"I'm up. I'm ready." Lauren said as she sprouted from her bed.
"Try again, brush your teeth and wash your face. I'll be downstairs." Selena said to her before returning downstairs.
Lauren did as she was told and brushed her teeth then washed her face.

"You're really pretty you know?" Dinah said to Selena while holding Normani.
"Really? You two are adorable, thank you." Selena said sweetly.

"Is Lauren adorable too?" Normani asked her.
"I think so." Selena smirked.
"I like her." Normani whispered to Dinah in front of her.
"Lauren does too." Dinah replied.

"I'm ready." Lauren shouts as she comes down the stairs.
"Well girls, we have to get going." Selena said before waving goodbye.
Lauren blew them kisses and told them she'd be back.
"They are so cute together." Dinah gushed.
"You know what else is cute?" Normani asked her.
"No, what?" Dinah said.
"Woooow."
"What?" Dinah asked cluelessly.
"I'm not cute?" Normani said after she pinched her.
"Owwww! Of course you are!" Dinah rolled her eyes.
"Just kidding, you're cute." Normani smiled.

Lauren and Selena had finally made it to Stella's Diner.
They were seated quickly and ordered anyone's definition of a "normal" breakfast.

"I didn't think I'd ever see you again." Lauren spoke honestly.
"You'd be just fine with that wouldn't you?" Selena asked her.
"Absolutely not." Lauren stated.
"Why is that?" Selena asked her.
"I like you. I've liked you since the first day I saw you." Lauren told her.
"Can I be honest with you?"
"You can." Lauren said to her.
"I know there's someone else." Selena sighed.
"I mean—"
"I know there's someone else because your bed smelled like a woman's perfume that doesn't match any you have sitting on your dresser. You also didn't call me after the date. The only reason I came today was to see if this would go anywhere and if it doesn't, I at least know it wasn't because I didn't try." Selena poured.

"There was another girl I met before you during the speed date and I had sex with her....recently...like the day before you texted me. You probably don't want to hear but, it didn't mean much to me. There's someone but I just don't see myself going back to her." Lauren confessed.

"Do you know how that makes me feel?" Selena asked her, with an unidentifiable tone.

"Not really, no." Lauren answered truthfully.
"Confident." Selena revealed.
"What?"
"In you."
"You feel confident in me?" Lauren asked just to be sure she'd inferred correctly.
"You could've lied to me, but you didn't. That's why I'm confident in you." Selena smiled at her.
"I couldn't imagine lying to you." Lauren said to her.
"Imagine it being painful." Selena laughed.
Lauren did too.

While eating, Lauren's phone rang.
Her face turned red.

"Answer it, silly." Selena said friendly.
"I'm so sorry."

"Dinah, is this important?" Lauren asked anxiously.

"Mani is this important?"
"Yes." Normani whispered on the line.
"Yes Lauren, this is important." Dinah replied.

"Well?" Lauren awaited.
"Can me and Mani go on a trip?"
"A trip where? What place could you've possibly come up with in the time I've been out of the house?" Lauren sighed.
"Cuba."

"Absolutely not." Lauren argued.
"Put Selena on the phone."

"Uh, Dinah wants to talk to you."
Selena reached for the phone and Lauren handed it to her.

"Hello?"
"Hi Selena, ever been to Cuba?"

"No." Selena answered.
"You've seen pictures though right?"
"Yeah." Selena answered once again.
"And its pretty based on what you've seen right?"
"Well, yes it is."

"Thanks, can you put Lauren back on the phone? "

Selena handed the phone back.

"Dinah?"
"Selena thinks it's a good idea, we're going to Cuba."
Dinah hung up.

"Ay caramba."
"You love them." Selena smiled.
"I do, I just know Dinah well enough to know she's packing for Cuba right now."
