It was almost morning when the boys came back to the Lakehouse, with Lucy safely retrieved.

Gajeel opened the giant carved wooden doors of the cabin.

The moment he did, all heads turned to them. The girls who were left behind were waiting for their return all evening.

When they saw each of them, the girls’ eyes couldn’t get any wider.

All of them had at least a bruise or two, cuts, and dried up blood on their faces or body.

But even so, they had victorious smirks on their faces.

“Well,” Cana started as she crossed her arms, “By the looks of it, I think we won.”

“Damn right we did!” Loki, out of his excitement, unconsciously elbowed Gray beside him.

“OW! I got hit by a metal bat y’know!”

.

The remaining time before the sun rose up was spent treating their wounds. Everyone was at the living room.

“Woah, woah wait!” Gajeel stretched his arm in front of Levy who was holding a container of disinfectant on her hand and a bandage on the other, “Is that alcohol? No! That thing hurts!”

Levy rolled her eyes at him. For a well-built guy like him, he was acting like a little girl.

“Come on, Gajeel. Don’t be a shrimp,” she sighed.

“By the way, did you get your mustang back?” Erza asked as she pressed an ice pack on Jellal's bruised forearm.

He was going to answer when Loki let out a laugh.

“That car’s no more,” Gray said chuckling, he was at the corner stripping off his shirt.

“Yeah well,” Jellal said bluntly, “Thanks to someone.”

Cana stifled a laugh at his unfortunate side of the story.

“Don’t worry ‘bout it, Lucy will definitely replace it with a better one.” She said as she placed a band aid on Sting’s neck.

“Right,” Jellal suddenly had a smirk on his face, “Uncle Jude will definitely give me a Mercedes as a present.”

“Speaking of Lucy, where is she?” Sting said, everybody looked around as well.

.

“Does it hurt?”

Lucy’s voice had worriedness evident in it.

“No.”

She and Natsu were at her bedroom. She was treating the bruises on his face, wiping the dried blood with tap water.

“Okay, be still,” she slowly lifted the towel near the cut on his lowerlip.

He was sitting on the edge of the bed with her in between his legs, kneeling in front of him.

They were silent for quite a while. Just Lucy treating him and him staring at her face the entire time.

Then he spoke up, cutting off the silence,

“Baby.”

“Hm?”

Lucy continued to press the towel gently on his lips when he grabbed her hand, stopping her. Making her listen and look at him completely.

“You really should stop with the break ups,” Natsu’s voice was low and gentle, “It’s making me crazy.”

She remembered what she said back at the building when he was fighting the enemy.

Lucy gave him a smile. A tender one.

“I only said it to…motivate you,” she started, “I didn’t like seeing you suffer.”

Natsu sighed.

“I couldn’t think of anything else,” she continued.

He placed his hands on both sides of her head as he brought his forehead towards hers.

He stared at her as she stared back.

“Well next time, try another way to threaten me. It’s not good for my heart.”

Lucy giggled at the words he chose to say.

“Alright.”

She whispered softly as she lifted her head up to meet his lips.

She kissed him.

By the time they broke the kiss, the early morning ray of sunshine shone through the windows and into the room.

It was daybreak.
