Abed, four years old now, walked with his mom to the preschool. Malina held his hand tightly as she worried what the other children would think of Abed. Once they reached the doors to the school, Malina bent down in front of Abed. "So, are you ready for your first day of preschool Abed?" Malina asked him sweetly, but there was concern in her eyes, she just wanted everything to run smoothly. Abed turned to look at the doors that were much larger than him, running towards them with curiosity. Malina opened the door and walked in, she had already registered Abed, so the teachers already knew they would be coming. "Abed! So nice to have a new student!" The teacher asked. "Hi, my name is Kelly," she said, holding out her hand. Malina shook it, "The principal told me that Abed would be starting school here" Kelly said, she seemed like a really kind person, this gave Malina a sense of relief. "Alright," Malina said bending down once again, "Have a good day, I love you Abed. I will be here after you're done" Malina said to Abed before exiting the school doors.
More children were dropped off at the school, entering the doors. As Abed saw all the new people coming in, he became very anxious and scared. Abed wasn't used to this many kids, he had rarely seen others around his age. Unsure of what to do, Abed walked over to a box he saw, with many toys inside. He picked up some giant legos, connecting them together, building random formations out of them for a while. Abed felt a few taps on his shoulder, turning around quickly, he didn't like how it felt. "Abed, could you come sit in a circle with the rest of the kids?" Kelly told him. Abed looked at the group of kids behind him, all sitting in a circle, eyes on him. He froze up, he felt too embarrassed to move, he just continued to stare back at the kids, wide eyed. His hand was taken by Kelly, as she walked him to an open spot in the circle. Once Abed sat cross legged, he looked down at his hands laying in his lap. "Everyone, this is Abed, he's a new student! How about we give him a nice welcome, okay?" Kelly said to the children, as all the children said obnoxiously loud, "Hello Abed!" in many different pronunciations. Abed kept his head down and stared at the floor, he felt very uncomfortable. Kelly began teaching the class about rhyming words, Abed caught on quickly with the words, but he still avoided the other kids.
Once they were done with the lesson, they went outside to play for recess. All the kids ran onto the play equipment with excitement. Abed walked around, unsure what to do. He walked up to the slide, watching as the other children slid down. Sitting at the top of the slide, Abed pushed himself forward and slid down. He wasn't sure if he enjoyed it or not, so Abed continued exploring the other activities the children were doing. Suddenly, another kid ran into him, knocking him over. It was another boy, "Sorry about that" he said, "Me and Annie were playing tag" he said, standing up. "Do you want to play with us? My name's Troy" He said, holding out his hand to help Abed up. Abed didn't know how to react to what just happened, so he tried mimicking what Troy had just did. Abed stood up and said, "I'm Abed lets play the tag game" he said awkwardly. Troy was confused by Abed's actions and voice, but he let him play anyways. Troy told Annie that Abed was going to play with them, and then taught Abed how to play tag. Troy touched Abed's shoulder, "Tag you're it!" he yelled, and ran away laughing. Abed did his best to play the game right, although everything was new to him. When recess was over, all the kids walked to the school entrance, where everyone's parents were waiting. Abed walked alone, looking for his mom. Troy's voice came from behind him and Abed turned around. "Tag is fun isn't it?" Troy asked Abed. Abed just nodded his head, keeping silent. Malina walked up to Abed smiling, "How was it?" she asked him, before noticing Troy right next to him. "Is this your new friend Abed?" Malina asked, she was hopeful that it was. "I'm Troy, I played tag with Abed during recess. It was fun!" Troy said, "Abed doesn't talk much though" Troy stated, being honest. "Well, see you tomorrow!" Troy said while running towards his mom and hugging her. Malina had never felt happier, her son had made a friend on his first day of school!

Troy and Abed as toddlers!! I wasn't sure if I would include Troy or Annie in it, but I decided to add them in, even though Troy is about a year younger than Abed. I thought it would be extra cute if I did. So I hope you enjoyed it! If you did, don't forget to vote, and thanks for reading!
