Yeah this is 3 months later because I just cba And lookie here I actually have an update for you! Ik I'm shook too 😂

Carson's POV

I sat on Summer's couch flipping through the TV channels. "Ah, Carson! Summer will be down in just a bit, said she's taking a shower," her dad smiled.

I nodded and smiled back. "There's food in the kitchen if you're feeling hungry - actually don't you famous people have like crazy diets?" Summer's dad joked.

I laughed, "No thank you Mr Peterson," I said politely, "I literally ate a whole pizza before I came!"

"Okay son," Mr Peterson grinned and shook his head before leaving the room. I resumed watching TV but there was nothing interesting on so my mind kind of zoned off. My eyes then caught sight of a box hidden in the corner in the room.

I should probably leave it but - I looked around - there was no on here. I'd just have one look and put it back. So I got off the couch and picked up the box. Shit, it was heavy! I placed it on the table and opened it. Inside was a ukulele which was personalised with little rainbow stickers, smiley faces, flowers and other stuff like that. There were also piles of paper attached to cassette players.

I read the first paper. It had something jotted down in messy handwriting and a black ink pen. On the top it said the date, it was from two months ago. I then carried on reading. It was titled 'The Boy With Blue Eyes'. Cute. At first it seemed like some type of love poem.

It talked about the writer's feelings they had for this 'Boy With Blue Eyes' but then went to say that he was the author's friend so they couldn't be together. It was a beautiful poem. I then realised this one verse kept recurring like some type of chorus and then it came to me, it was a song!

I turned around and noticed the VCR next to the TV. Haven't seen one of those in a while! "Lets see if I remember how these work," I muttered to myself slipping the cassette in. After fiddling around with the button an image appeared on the screen. It was Summer! She was holding the ukulele from the box.

She then strummed a gentle melody and began singing. WAIT SHE CAN SING?! Her voice was soft and raspy but not too raspy, just enough rasp to sound beautiful and unique. She could also make her voice higher and smoother.

Absolutely amazing.

I then realised she was singing the song from the paper I was reading. Did she write that song? Holy fuck, my friend was talented.

"STEP AWAY FROM THE TV!" I heard a voice shout. I turned around to see Summer, her hair still dripping wet. She ran down the stairs and switched the video off. "That's private!" She exclaimed and pushed me. But I then realised from her smile she wasn't angry. "I'm sorry I was bored and I saw it and then-"

"It's okay, just don't invade my privacy like that again!" she said neatly placing the cassette back in the cardboard box.

"Yeah sorry about that," I rubbed my neck sheepishly, "So now we've established that you're not mad with me let's talk about those videos!"

"I'd rather not," she said putting the box back in its hiding place.

"But since when did you play the ukulele?!" I asked.

"Since my mom bought it for me 10 years ago and I taught myself how to play," she replied.

"Wow," my jaw dropped. I didn't know Summer had this whole 'ukelele history!'f

"Can we just drop it now?" Summer said.

"But you're fucking talented!" I told her.

"No I'm not. I mean, you're the worldwide famous singer! If anyone is 'fucking talented' it's you!" Summer shook her head.

"You are talented but you keep you keep your talent hidden in these 'Thirteen Reasons Why' tapes(!)"

"Because I'm bad!" She put a hand on her hip.

"Take it from the 'worldwide famous singer' you're really not! If this song got out it'd blow up!"

Summer froze, "Carson," she said in a serious tone, "You can't tell anyone about these... Please."

"But I've only heard one song and I'm in love with your voice! Imagine if we put this online! You could get a record deal and-"

"Look, these are my songs about my life. If these get out they won't be mine anymore! They're my gems. My own private gems. Which is why you have to promise not to tell anybody-"

"But-"

"Promise!"

"Fine!" I groaned reluctantly.

"Good," Summer patted my head.

"So if I'm sworn to secrecy can't you at least tell me who the song was about?" I asked.

Summer blushed furiously and for a second she looked a bit scared but she covered it up with a cheeky smile, "That's something only I know."

"Awww has little Summer got a crush now?" I teased her. To be fair I didn't really care, everyone has crushes I guess. I just wanted to annoy her!

"Fuck off!" She laughed and pushed me. "Lemonade?" She then asked, trying to change the subject, I think.

"Sure," I said deciding to give her a break with the teasing.

"Okay brb!" She chirped and left the room. I glanced at the box then at Summer, if only her talent could get out to the rest of the world! She wanted to keep it secret though so maybe I should just leave it. I guess...

Sorry for using the 'oh, she can sing!' cliche but it's a bit different to 'she can sing then she magically blows up and they all live happily ever after!' So just keep reading...

please, I'm desperate 😂

Until next time and may the force be with you...
