Heya! Long time, no? Ofcourse it's been a long time, and I'm terribly sorry about it. Someone beat my procrastinating ass. I decided to try and make my chapters shorter, so I can try to push out more than I usually do (exception of this one). I've taken the time to make the storyline, and I think I've got it. I tried to make it as realistic and relatable as I could since I learned that makes the story more appealing. Anyways, enough with the chat. Here you go!

2nd POV

In such a short span of time, you've already been subjected to so much a ten year-old should've be going through. It was the price for being adopted by such a highly respected and militarized organization. Such an organization wouldn't normally have time to babysit, and yet, here you are, being watched over every hour of the day. You'd be accompanied outside if you wanted to play, and an agent would follow you around, going so far as to wait outside the bathroom as you did your business. As a child, you weren't so bothered. It was nice having them around so much instead of having them too busy to pay you any attention. It was natural for a child to love the attention, especially when it came from several of the trained soldiers with supposedly hardened hearts. At the time, you wouldn't trade it for anything.

However, despite being given so much attention, you knew you were definitely missing something. A child like you was curious about everything, and after 10 years, you were bound to question things. Like... why did everyone else have a party on their birthday while you didn't? Did you even have a birthday?

---

Things were starting to look great. Though the edge lord he is, you knew he deserved a party of his own. You had just recently found out that he hasn't had a surprise party before. You wondered why he didn't have a yearly party like the others. Parties were optional apparently.

Reinhardt help lift you up to stick black balloons on the walls. You had already finished hanging up streamers of the same color. The tables were lined with black cloth. Black food coloring was added into the food. The cake was... well, I'll have you guess that.

Once finished, you went straight to making the banner that would hang over the table of food. You grabbed your paint, brushes of several sizes and shapes, and a long piece of soft cloth. You dragged everything back to the dining area, obviously not wanting to drag the finished product and risk creating a mess in the halls. You were 99 percent sure you'd get into so much trouble if hadn't thought that through. So for the rest of the evening, you painted the banner, getting paint everywhere on you. Halfway through, you put the brushes away and just resorted to using your fingers, getting black paint on your face and clothes. Luckily, your hair was out of harm's way, put in a fashion that would keep it away from the paint.

You were so engrossed in making the banner perfect that you hadn't noticed that the agents have been watching over your person for the past hours you've been doing this. Some found it adorable that you through such lengths on your own to surprise Gabriel. Some were worried since you barely had any time to rest or eat well. Sandwiches and soup definitely wasn't the ideal meal set for a ten year-old.

Angela, Lena, and Reinhardt were quietly watching you from the door as you fix your used equipment. They've been there for quite some time, making sure you wouldn't run into a problem, but so far, it's been fine. All you had to do was wait for the paint to dry and hang it up before you retreated into your room to sleep the rest of the night off. You yawned, covering your gaping mouth with the back of your hand. The paint on it had already dried, but put on some scary looking teeth and you'd look like the monsters from Resident Evil 7. But that game was made several years ago, so what would you know about it?
