∞Ambrogio's POV∞

I wiped my hands in the cloth as I left the room. The blood weren't coming off. I smirked. I loved the feeling of torturing someone. Loved the look on their faces. I didn't like the look on the maid's face though. I... felt bad for doing it to her. Not necessarily bad, but not good either.

I shook my head. I couldn't show mercy, I needed to show her what I was capable off. I left the basement and went to my bedroom. I stripped my clothes and took a quick shower. The blood mixed with the water and ran out the drain. As I was clean I dried myself, and took on a new suit.

A knock sounded on my door and I called for them to come in. It was Piero. He looked pale and nervous.

"What?" I spat. He came in and closed the door behind him. I walked closer to him.

"The feds. They're trying to get a search warrant, our guy there just called. We need to do something," he said, his voice shaking with his every word. My blood ran cold.

"Okay. Go now, I need to take matter on this business." He instantly left and my office was once again quiet. I needed to handle this situation right this instant. We had alive, half dead, and dead people trapped in the basement. We had 35 undocumented and trapped, for that matter, maids living here. They would snitch at just the sight of a police officer.

I got out my phone and pressed a too familiar number. "Lucas," I spoke when the phone was answered.

"Yes," he answered. "I take it you have heard my warning, right?"

"I have, yes. On what grounds are they getting it? And are they close to just that?" a pause was made before he answered.

"A body was found on the streets. The guy was beaten to death with a bat, that's what they're looking for. They found a wallet close by with your hallmark on it. The wallet didn't give them any answers, though. Only cash was in it. They're trying to search your house for the missing bat." I scoffed at that.

"Is that enough?" I couldn't possibly be.

"Well, in reality, no, but you know they've tried to find a legitimate reason for years now. This might just be it. I will of course come back to you, when I hear more, but Ambrogio, get ready. They're all hopeful on this one; I think it might just be what they need. The judges are sick of everything too, so they're willing to bend the rules, I presume."

"Thank you," I said and hung up the phone. We needed to get ready and we needed to do so right now.

Dialing another well-known number, I lifted the phone to my ear. "Renato, I don't have time to explain, but we have a code 16. Get ready, right this instant." I didn't give him time to answer before I hung up. I didn't have the time. A search warrant didn't need much time to come through.

I dialed yet another number and let it rung. "Giovanni, code 16. Get your maids to the basement right now."

"When did you get the call?" he simply asked.

"A couple of minutes ago. Hurry up."

"Fuck, yes, on it." He said and hung up.

Making hopefully the last call of the evening, I dialed Piero's number.

"Get up here, right now," I spat and hung up. I then opened my safe and took all of our papers out. I left some the feds could look at all they wanted, but took out all of the ones we could get in trouble for.
