As I opened my eyes, I realized I had no idea where I was. What happened? Though, as I looked around, my mind went wild and my pulse quickened.
Ambrogio's bedroom.
Had I slept here? I guess I must have fallen asleep last night when I waited for him to send me to my own room. He had taken forever and the vodka hadn't helped on my tiredness either. The situation started to make sense, but one thing was still confusing me. Why hadn't he woken me up? Wasn't it the normal thing to do? Why had he let me sleep in his room on his couch?
I looked at the clock on the wall and saw it read 9 am. It couldn't have been long since he left. Maybe an hour or two? Luckily for me, it wasn't my turn to be on morning cleaning and I was therefor not in a rush.
I got up from the couch and walked towards the door. I wanted to leave before he came back. Just as I opened the door to his hallway, the door to the outside hallways was opened too. Ambrogio came in with a towel around his neck, grey sweatpants, and a black tank top. It was clear he had just worked out since he was sweaty and had flushed cheeks. When he saw me, he instantly smirked.
"You're awake," he stated. I nodded and felt nervous. I could remember everything I had done yesterday, and I felt terrible. I had touched him and kissed his cheek. I felt gross. This was all wrong. I really couldn't do that again.
"You could have woken me up. I wasn't meant to fall asleep," I said, feeling really awkward. And for some reason, scared.
"You were asleep, I didn't want to wake you. I think I told you, but I want to say it again, you played nicely yesterday. Good job."
"Uhm, for how long do I have to do this?" It flew out of me and I sounded rude and angry, which wasn't what I had meant to do. I didn't dare to act like that in front of him.
"Well, at least until the white house dinner. After that, we will have to see." He gave me a single nod and walked into his room behind me. He closed his door right in front of my face, and I figured it was a sign for me to leave.
"Emma! Where have you been?" Nina exclaimed when she saw me. I walked into her open arms and hugged her back.
"You wont believe it," I sighed and went to my room with her in my heels. We both sat down on my bed and I explained my whole night. I even told her about the way I had to touch Ambrogio and the ugly man who hit on me. During my entire story, her eyes were crazy and she gasped more times than I could count.
"That's insane!" she said when the entire story was over. "And he didn't slap you away when you touched him?" I shook my head.
"No, it's supposed to look like we're dating, remember?"
"Yeah, well still. I have never seen him like that, so it's hard to imagine."
"Oh, my God! I just thought of something. What if you're there one day when I'm dealing? I will finally see what you're talking about!"
"I really hope that will never happen. It's so awkward, you have no idea!" my hands were on my face in a dramatic way.
"I see why, but you have to admit he's really handsome. He's so muscular and his face is gorgeous!"
"Nina."
"What?" She was so crazy.
"I saw him torture a man!" I hissed at her.
"Yeah, well that doesn't make him bad looking, besides all the men here have tortured someone before, it isn't just him. Like I explained, it's a part of the game in this world." The world I was kidnapped into. Okay, kidnapped were a strong word, but it surely felt like that.
