"Do you think mom and dad will stay together a little longer?"
The books Anna read at least 6 times were on the nearby oak table. The pale white walls matched the boring bedspread she was laying on and the window let through a dim of light towards the cold tile floor.
"I don't know Anna, but you shouldn't worry about it.. It makes me so angry that they chose to let that happen right now. You already have a lot going on. " I said in frustration while I played with the hem of my dress.
She looked up at me from her hospital bed, giving me a worried look "I'll talk to them, alright? " I grabbed her hand.
She nodded and there was a short moment of silence until she spoke up " So, how's Jake? " she asked me while she sat up against her pillow.
"I honestly don't know. I haven't talked to him in 2 weeks, after we had that argument. Everyone's telling me he just needs space, so I'm trying to give him space. "
"After all, I don't need his drama. " I added.
I looked out the window while i sat at the edge of the bed. I wasn't thinking about anything, all I felt was complete emptiness. All I wanted was to lay down on the floor and cry for the rest of my life. Nothing mattered except my baby sister and the fact that she has to deal with this makes my heart ache.
" Sophia.. It's okay to be happy. " she said as she grabbed my hand.
"I've been more happier then this but I'm going to get better, and I know that. The fact that I will most likely live makes me happy, and its the reason I still wake up everyday. I just want you, and everyone to be happy.." she explained.
I nodded and smiled. I try to smile and be happy around her because she needs the positivity, but sometimes I'm not capable of showing her that and I hate myself for it.
"Tell daddy to make that cheesecake he always makes, I've been on my period and I'm craving it so bad. " She said smiling and laying back down.
"Haha, anything for you. But If theres a piece missing, you know who took it. "I laughed and winked at her.
