Evie POV

I felt so unhappy. Mal was avoiding me all the time. I didn't take it personal, though, as she never talked to anyone who approached to her. A week had passed and Mal didn't even care about going back to normal. She was skipping classes, running away through the forest, painting walls, being her old self. Ben even wasn't there to help me, as he had gone in a business trip.

Seven days without your best friend can be very hard when you had became so close and got used to each other. I told her how we met, the adventures we had been through together, how she cared about all her friends.

"Bullshit! I've never care about anyone, and if I was so weak like you say, I'm defenitely NOT coming back to that. Stop chasing me around, I'm starting to hate you, like for real!!!" she screamed.

Those words felt like a bomb to me. I felt how a tear was falling over my cheeck, and as soon as I closed my eyes, I started to cry my eyes out. I started to run towards the forest, I ran and ran until I got to the enchanted lake. I was so tired because of the running, that I sat down under the beautiful canopy to try to catch some air.

Mal was who brought me here, she said that that was where she and Ben had their first date. Nobody knows about this place apart from the three of us. Mal said to me that she just wanted her two favorite people to know this secret hiding place. That made me feel very special, the fun thing is that now I'm here but I'm not one of her favorite people anyomore.

I decided to stay here and spend the night. I could drink water from the lake and I could eat the apples of the trees. I didn't want to see anyone.

Mal POV

It felt so good to be alone, that bluenette girl wasn't in our room and I had never been so happy. I started to paint the wall of my room with the sprying cans and I was so consumed by it that I wasn't really sure of what I was drawing, it was like my hands had life for themselves. When I finished the work, I looked at it and I couldn't believe my eyes: they were me, the daughter of the Evil Queen, the son of Cruella, and the son of Jafar.

The annoying girl hadn't returned yet and it was already dark outside, but... why on earth was I worried about her? I went out of my room to knock  Carlos and Jay's door.

"Mal? What a surprise! What are you doing here?" asked Jay.

"Nothing important, just your blue friend didn't come back in the whole day. Maybe you needed to know that, bye!" was all I said. Of course I didn't show any sign of concern.

"Wait, what?" asked Carlos. "She is not the kind of person who leaves and doesn't show up later".

Their faces swifted from being happy to being really, really worried. They started to call everyone to let them know and to ask for help. They went on a kind of search for her.

"You are coming with us" Carlos said.

"What? Why would I want to go with you? I did my part, which was just inform you"

"Because if you really didn't care about her, you wouldn't have told this in the first place" was his answer.

"Ok, fine. But I'll go just because it seems like a fun treasure hunt, I'm not going for her" I lied. Why? Why was I caring about that stupid girl? I started to feel a pain in my chest.

"Sure... whatever" murmured Jay.

We started searching inside the school, but something told me she wasn't there.

"Why don't you look into the forest?" I asked to hurry them up.

"The forest? No way, she's afraid of it, you should know that" Carlos replied.

"Are you sure enough?" they looked at me in amaze. "Look, I don't know why, but something is telling me that she should be there,  so I don't care if you are following me or not, but I'll go there"

"Did you just admit you care about her?"

"Don't make me regret it" I warned them. It was obvious that I would never regret it. At the end, that stupid princess got what she wanted: she made me soft, again.
