Eliza was laying on her bed reading a book. There was a knock on her door.
"Are you ready yet?" Her anxious sister asked. She sighed and opened the door.
"I already told you I'm not going," She told Peggy.
Tonight would be one of the biggest dances in town. Eliza refused going, no matter how much her sisters had pestered her about it. She didn't care that the ever so charismatic Alexander Hamilton would be there either. She just wanted to stay at home, by herself.
"Come on!" Peggy whined. She grabbed Eliza's hand and sat her down on a chair. Her smaller sister then started rummaging through her closet.
"Peg, what are you doing?" Eliza started to get up, but Peggy sat her back down.
"Finding," she struggled with some clothes, "You a," she emerged holding a bagged hanger. "Dress!" She held it up. Peggy quickly took the bag off to reveal what was beneath it.
Eliza gasped when she saw it. The light blue dress had a sweetheart neckline, Eliza's favorite, a beautiful skirt, and dazzling sleeves.
"I never knew I had this," she got off the bed to look at it. Peggy ushered her into the closet to try it on.
Eliza slipped the dress on and came back out for her sister to see. She twirled in it.
"You have to go," Peggy told her, looking in awe.
Eliza shook her head. "I don't know," she sighed and looked at her reflection. She turned back to Peggy, "I will, I guess."
She started clapping. "You better hurry! We need to leave in 10 minutes. I'll tell Angie that you're going," she smiled and exited the room.
Eliza smiled and sat down to do her makeup. She went subtle with a hint of blush to color her cheeks, a little bit of mascara, some neutral shades for her eyes, and a bit of lipgloss. She pulled half of her hair up, leaving the rest trailing down her back.
Eliza threw her phone, along with some money, into her small clutch. She slipped on some silver heels, put a small silver necklace on, and waited outside of her room for her sisters.
Angelica came out moments later, looking stunning in a pink dress that complemented her skin tone. "I'm glad you're going," Angelica told her sister, smiling.
Elia nodded, "You look beautiful!" Peggy emerged with her yellow dress on and curly hair tied up. "You do too!" She told her younger sister.
They both smiled and complimented Eliza.
Angelica checked the time on her watch. "We better get going," she told them.
The girls left the house, giggling and excited for the party. They drove to the spot where it would be happening.
When they got out, Angelica stopped her younger sisters to talk to them. "Stay safe, don't be stupid, and have fun!" The Schuyler's started cheering. Angelica gave them a quick hug before entering the building.
They were greeted with blinding lights, loud music, and lots of people. Eliza started to regret coming.
Eliza stayed close to her sisters, but it wasn't long before Peggy was off bouncing around, meeting new people. She sighed while smiling.
"What's your plan?" Eliza asked her older sister. She didn't know what to do. There were no friends of hers here, so she didn't have anyone to talk to.
Angelica shrugged. "Hopefully find a partner," she told her, looking around the dance floor. It wasn't long before she disappeared. Eliza was alone.
She started feeling uncomfortable immediately. I can't do this! She thought to herself. Eliza looked frantically around for a familiar face, but didn't find any.
Somebody tapped her shoulder, she turned around. A charming face greeted her. He offered her his hand.
"Would you like to dance?" He asked Eliza. She hesitantly nodded and grabbed the hand. "Elizabeth Schuyler," She told him, feeling nervous.
"Schuyler?" Eliza nodded. He smiled. "Alexander Hamilton."
