"Doesn't it bother you that Mikey always seems to ditch you" Ian asked the girl laying down on his bed next to her and looking to the ceiling, feeling guilty for knowing such a heartbreaking secret about her so called love of her life. He didn't like it one bit, and this girl was now sharing such an important secret about his affair with Kash. It felt wrong to Ian, keeping this secret from her, and she's a smart girl who knew almost everything, everything except for Physics and Mikey. He didn't want Rosie to look stupid.

Rosie took long deep breathes and thought about the answer to the question, "I mean people have their faults. I've known Mikey for years, and yeah sometimes it bothers me, but I'm sure he's got a really good reason for ditching me. He wouldn't ditch me for no reason, and he wouldn't lie to me either, he never has why would he start now?"

That's the question Lip couldn't understand fully. Why would the star quarterback of the school even bother with lying. He could have any girl in the school, and he has had almost every girl in the school. Everyone except the group of girls that Mikey doesn't even know exist, and Rosie. Lip couldn't pin point why Mikey chose to keep Rosie around, and it unanswered question bothered him. Mikey could simply be with Sydney, a girl much easier to get into bed with than Rosie, and almost as attractive as Rosie, and probably wouldn't throw a fuss over him sleeping with other people. So why keep Rosie around? Was it her money? That explanation could work, but Mikey is also rich, was it to be close to Rosie's father?

"Besides I've been with him through thick and thin, and he's been with me, he can blow me off here and there if he wants." Rosie said l after a long pause. Ian just nodded at her, "Whatever you say Rosie, but you still shouldn't be his foot mat, don't you ever feel like all he does is walk all over you?"
"I wouldn't say that he walks all over me..." Rosie trailed off, "But like I said thick and thin, I know Mikey better than anyone." Rosie was confident in her words.

Ian looked away as he responded not wanting to break the girl's heart right then and there, "If you say so." Ian muttered quietly.

Lip looked to the girl his mind going through a billion questions all to answer the most important: Why does Mikey lie?
Lip out of no where asks, "How long have you known Mikey anyways?"
Rosie sat up on the bed, "To be honest I don't even know, he's always been there, even when I was a child. I remember we would have play dates at his house, our mothers were close friends, our fathers get along quite well too." Rosie smiled at the simple memory, and continued going down memory lane while Lip analyzed the new piece of information.
Lip continued to question the girl, "So you're Mikey's first and longest friend?"
"I mean I guess you could say that. We even have baby pictures of us together" Rosie spoke, while pulling out a picture she keeps of them from her wallet. It was Rosie and Mikey in diapers.
"So you probably know a lot about him" Lip was persistent in trying to understand Mikey's actions.
"Yeah like I said I've known him for a long time." Rosie answered slowly confused on Lip's sudden interest in Mikey. "Why so many questions about Mikey?"
"No reason just wanna know more about the school's famous 'it' couple." Lip said with ease, simply covering his true motives. Lip looked out the window and glanced at Rosie who laid back down on Ian's bed, when she heard a buzz from her phone. She was shocked to see it was a message from her father.
"That's my father, he's wondering where I am. That's a first." Rosie said as she got up from the bed and quickly put her shoes on.
Lip watched the girl, his mind still running a million miles a minute, "Do you want us to take you home, it's late and you're carrying a very expensive looking purse, in a very bad neighborhood."
Rosie smiled at the blue eyed boy, "I have the car remember, the driver has just been waiting outside, I think I'll be fine." She picked up her purse from the ground and headed for the door, "Besides tomorrow's the homecoming game and then after is the dance. I need to get home ASAP to be able to begin my nighttime routine." As she exited Rosie quickly said, "See you guys tomorrow."

Ian smiled at her while Lip just laid back down on his bed. Lip watched as Ian got up and looked to the window, "Did Rosie make it to her car okay?" Lip asked Ian.

"Yeah she did, What was up with the interrogation?" Ian said as he turned to face Lip.

Lip decided to play stupid, "What are you talking about?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about Lip." Ian groaned in frustration trying to understand his brother's random actions.
"I was just trying to figure out why" Lip said sitting up to face his brother.
"Why what?" Ian begged his brother wanting him to just get to the point already.
Lip sighed, "Why does Mikey bother lying to Rosie, he could easily have a girl just as hot and easier to get into bed with, on top of that Rosie and him aren't even technically dating, so why does he lie?"
Ian's face scrunched in confusion trying to answer the question himself. "It's simple, not only does he have the school's 'it' girl, he's also still able to fuck whoever he wants."
Lip rolled his eyes at his brother's simple answer "If it was that simple, I wouldn't have asked Rosie all those questions."

"I'm obviously missing something here" Ian chorused.

"Okay yes, that technically answers the question, as to why he would lie to Rosie, but then it brings up another question, Why does he want to keep Rosie so bad anyways?" Lip said challenging Ian.
"Isn't that also a simple answer, to keep the 'it' girl in his reach?" Ian answered, watching his brother think.
"Why does it matter so much to you anyways?" Ian wondered.
Lip was puzzled by his sudden interest too, and simply said, "I had a run in with Mikey at Karen's house, and he's the biggest asshole in the world. And it just bothers me for some reason that she's so blindsided and all over a guy like that? I just don't understand how she thinks they click, cause Rosie's so-"
"Nice girl you brought over Ian, you should bring her over more often, especially if she brings food." Fiona cheered on the other side of the door interrupting Lip's sentence.
"Knowing you Lip, you could've also pushed him to be a dick. You have a tendency to egg people on" Ian added.

Lip thought about his one and only conversation with Mikey, "All I remember was he asked me if I'm the guy tutoring his 'girl' and I simply asked which girl w-" Lip stopped talking, as things started to make sense, Ian looked over curious to know what his brother put together.

"Well are you gonna tell me the answer or am I just gonna have to sit and watch you all wide eyed"
"Shut up you dickhead." Lip bellowed causing Ian to simply lay down on his bed in frustration. Lip pulled out the white lighter, and lit a cigarette, and as the blue eyed boy blew out smoke he simple uttered the words, "I think he's actually in love with in some weird and sick way."

Ian rolled his eyes. "If he was actually in love with her he wouldn't do this to her in the first place."

"Maybe at first it was an 'accident' maybe something that should've just been a one time thing and he didn't want to tell her. But now at this point it's just too far gone" Lip said blowing smoke out as he spoke.

As Rosie quickly made it home, not even a full 5 minutes passed when the doorbell rang. She walked towards the iPad on the kitchen counter to see who was at the door. It only took one glance at screen for her to run towards the door in excitement.

"Hey Rosie, I bought strawberries and nutella your favorite."

Rosie beamed at the boy who stood before her, and quickly let him in. "Thanks Mikey"

The two teens simply turned on Netflix and sat there on her bed, eating strawberries dipped in nutella and talked about everything and anything. The two teens just enjoyed eachother's company for hours.

Thank you to everyone who said kind words, and thank you to anyone who had kind thoughts as well. Thank you all so much for reading my story, you're guys' comments votes etc. always helped push me to write more, helping me reach my goal of actually finishing a story.

My writing is probably all over the place and confusing, and I literally read my story 80 times over to make sure it makes sense, and isn't cringey. Who knows maybe I'll even end up rewriting the story. But first thing to do is finish, stay tuned, I've recently been inspired, and the next part should come soon.
