You lay next to Lydia, hoping she can sleep easy tonight after all the nightmares she's been having.

I lay beside Lydia, holding her hand and using my other hand to run my fingers through her hair.
I think about the nightmares and how they're always about me, getting hurt, killed, or leaving.
All of a sudden her body jolts and she sits up, screaming, her banshee scream, as I wrap my arms around her tightly and squeeze my eyes shut from the pain.
"What was it this time?" I ask as tears roll down her cheeks.
"You, leaving me, for another person" she mumbles and looks down.
I lift her chin up and plant a kiss on her lips, "forever and always Lyds" I smile
