"So what's been going on baby?" Two-Bit asked, taking my book bag out of my arm and carrying it for me. Which was really sweet of him. Two-Bit always carried my stuff for me, even if it wasn't heavy.

"Just stuff." I sighed and kicked some rocks as we walked down the sidewalk. I felt the wind in my hair as we walked down to Two-Bit's house. I was really glad to take a break from school and get the heck of there.

To be honest, I wanted to run away from everyone. School. Classmates. Family. Including Dallas. I wanted me and Two-Bit to run away together. Runaway where it was just me and him. Get away from Tulsa and live somewhere far far away from everyone in Tulsa.

That means no more bullying, no more of seeing Alyssa and her friends making fun of me, no more of Dallas picking on me in class or even when he saw me around the hallways or lunch. No more of my abusive mother yelling at me or being abusive toward me, making things worse for me than it already was.

Why couldn't I live in a much happier place? The only thing that was keeping me alive was Two-Bit Matthews. An angel that came into my life and saved me. He understood me. He protects me. He loves me for who I was, not because of weak, shy, quiet Maria. Because I was unique and different from other girls. I did dress differently from the other girls in school. Unlike the girls who dressed up like look-alike Madonna's or girly or even preppy and expensive, I dressed up similar like Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. All black.

Sometimes  Alyssa and her friends would say something like - "Why do you dress up all black? Are you going to someone's funeral? Let me guess... is it yours? Because clearly, you have no life whatsoever." Or they either come up with the classic name-calling like -" Weirdo, Freak, Death, Witch, Ugly Goth Girl, Dark Whore, and Creepy Creature."

Other kids at school would give me dirty looks or snicker as I walk down to the hallways and go to my next class. Hey, at least I scare people with my style according to the popular girls in my biology class.

But anyways, my thoughts were cut off as soon as we arrived at Two-Bit's house.

"We're here baby, you been awful quiet during the whole walk. Are you sure you're okay? You didn't get to finish what you were saying." Two-Bit said, picking me up and carrying me inside his house.

Usually at this time, there was nobody there. His little sister was at school and his mom was at work. Sometimes she didn't get home until 6 in the afternoon. His little sister usually got home at 3.

"Yes, I'm sure. I just wanna spend time with you, that's all." I said with a smile as I lead over to kiss him. He kissed me back, setting me down on the couch.

We kissed for what seen a long time until we both pulled away from each other, grins appearing on our faces.

"Let's run away. Let's get out of here." I blurted out, grabbing his hand and squeezing it gently.

"Wait what? Don't you think it's too early babe?" Two-Bit grinned, tickling my waist. A giggle escaped from my lips as he tickled me.

"Yes it is... but I wanna get out of here... away from my mom and the school... away from the bullying and the socs... away from Tulsa... I wanna move to New York City..." I said, leaning down on the coach as I thought about the beautiful places of New York City... How would I love to be there right now and getting away from everyone else in here...

"Alright, babe. Sure." Two-Bit said. He didn't sound too convince or promising or seem like he wanted to leave and go to New York City.

But I was too busy to even notice his tone of voice as I thought about getting away from Alyssa and her friends.... especially Dallas...

No more dealing with Dallas anymore... hehe who would he pick on now that I'll be far far away from him?
