Chapter 3: Unexpected turns

After he put his shoes away I asked him to put some more decorations up and I kept making the cookie batter.

" Hey should I put the banner here or here?" He asked. "Oh, right there" I said pointing.

"N..no a little more to the lef- well that's too far. Here I'll do it". I walked over to him and he handed me the banner. I couldn't exactly reach it so I had to stand on my tippy toes but even then I couldn't reach but I kept trying although I kept failing. I grunted each time I stretched to reach the point. I heard a few giggles and laughs from behind me . Is he enjoying this?? I thought. I suddenly felt my feet lift from about the ground. He was holding me up. I hesitated a bit and looked at him from where he was holding me up.

"Hey I'm just tryna help" he said. I got flustered and put the first side of the banner up. He then walked over the the other side and I pinned it up. He put me down, I then turned to face him. This is the first time I noticed how tall he was standing so close to him, he was carrying me for a while so he must be quite strong too. I felt myself blush a little bit looking at his eyes as he looked at mine. He then got close to my ear and I felt his breath on my skin. I flinched a little but stood still. Quietly he whisperd into my ear "You're heavy you know that right?" I heard his giggle and I immediately snapped out of my trance. I pushed him away and angrily  said " Shut Up!!". I could feel my face getting more red. He started laughing even more.

"I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Hey, you're pretty light seeing how you snuck in so many licks of the cookie batter. Don't think I didn't see that" he laughed more.

"Y..you saw that?? Ah- whatever!"  I adjusted my apron and walked back to the kitchen to do the dishes. He walked behind me and stood next to me at the sink.

"I'll help you, you can clean up the rest of the mess you made" he said with a smirk. I gave him a light glare and said fine. With that he started doing the dishes and I cleaned up the counter. Once we finished I was sweeping while he sat on the couch playing with my cats. I rubbed my eye and realized that my contacts were still on. They were irritating me a bit so I went into the bathroom to change them real quick. I honestly didn't mind if Ian saw me with glasses. I mean, it's normal. I first put the solution in then I took my contacts off and put them in their case. I then walked into my room to get my glasses. I put them on then walked out. Ian looked at me and his face had mixed feelings. Almost in awe but a little shocked maybe. "What?" I said coldly " Have you never seen a person wear glasses before?" I then said sarcastically.  "Yeah but, they suit you. You look cute in them" he then stood up and walked towards me until he was directly in front of me. I blushed a little but suddenly he snatched my glasses from my face and put them on. "Hey!!" I yelled.

"Wow you have really bad eyesight" he said adjusting the glasses farther up his nose.

"Well yeah, that's kinda why I need them" I said crossing my arms. "Now give them back!" I yelled reaching to his face. He leaned back quickly and walked backwards.

"You'll have to catch me first he said running to the couch. I ran towards him and jumped at him and successfully latched on to him. My legs were around his waist and he had  one arm on my back so I didnt fall off. I tried to get my glasses but he then used his free hand to block me from his face. He kept running around my apartment to the kitchen to my hall and back to my living room. He then tripped on my carpet and we both went back . Luckily he landed of the couch and I was still latched on to him, but now I was sitting on top of him. His hand that was once on my back is now on my waist and he didn't move it. He looked at me and I looked at him his shirt was a little unbuttoned from our little quarrel. Some of his chest was exposed but I kept looking at him eyes and he looked at mine. We were both blushing.

He was about to speak when suddenly my phone started to ring we both looked at it then looked at each other. I quickly got off of him and went to answer the phone. It was Kev.

"Hello?"

" Hey Coco, just wanted to say we might be a little late. Lizzy won't leave until the outfit she wanted to wear is finished cleaning. She just put it in the dryer. We might be 30 minutes late, also Amanda is with us so you might be stuck with prince charming for a while." 

"Oh" I looked at Ian and who was now sitting up. He raised an eyebrow. He must have heard kev call him prince charming. "Its okay I think I can handle it, also why all this fuss about an outfit?

"Gimme the phone" it was Amanda speaking. "We tried to tell her that she could just wear something else but she refused, sorry about the hold up about some stupid outfit" suddenly I heard Lizzy scream " ITS NOT STUPID ITS FASION"

I put the phone away from my ear and  then the call hung up. I got a text from Kevin saying "sorry about the earrape we'll see you soon" I laughed a little then I put my phone down.

"Prince charming huh? I like it" Ian said with a smirk. He then handed me my glasses and I put them on. I smiled and rolled my eyes. I picked up bubbles and went to the fridge to take out some vanilla and chocolate pudding along with 2 spoons. I then walked over and placed the chocolate pudding and spoon in front of Ian. He smiled and said thank you. Still holding bubbles I placed  my pudding and spoon on the coffee table. I sat down and my cat settled on my lap as I reached for the remote control. I put on some cartoons and Ian seemed to enjoy them as he put a spoonful of chocolate pudding in his mouth. We both watched cartoons until Ian got up to throw away his and my trash and spoons. He then washed the spoons and picked up Luna before sitting back down on the couch but this time a little closer to me. After a bit I got up to change my clothes. I kept on my white t-shirt but put on a flannel long sleeve rolled up and the front open along with some ripped jeans. I took off my long socks and put on some black ones instead. When I walked out Ian looked at me and smiled. You look pretty. I blushed a little and sat back next to him. I noticed he had tooken off his tie and placed it on the table. Suddenly he put his arm around me I was hesitant at first but I let it happen.

What am I thinking?  I thought to myself but ended up forgetting. He held me closer and I didn't fight it. I could smell his cologne which I don't notice till now that it smelled nice. Soon we heard a knock at the door. There were here. The party had begun.
