"Honey, she's an orphan." Mrs. Robbinson said to her husband.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Her father dies when she was in third grade and her mother shot herself in the head when she was fourteen. She has no one left." She explained.
"What are you implying?"
"We adopt her. She doesn't have a home, a family, a bed! Make her life something other than a living hell. She's a smart girl, yet she's so grown up at the age of 16. She doesn't know how to trust people. All she's known is grief and betrayal. Honey, we can do something to fix her life!"
"Honey.. how do we know she won't go off and get drunk every night?"
"Jeff. Lizzy said that there was this big party that this boy, Kyle, invited her to. She was supposed to bring some vodka. Hazel is in her room typing a paper right now! The party started 2 hours ago. Hazel is already changing. She has such a bright future ahead of her, and I need to help her open that door!"
"Okay, okay. Fine. We'll see how this goes for a while and if she improves, we'll see if she wants us to adopt her. But she's almost an adult so there's a chance she'll refuse, darling."
"I know. I just want to try."
