Running.....Running....I am running from something....something is behind me.....I have no idea what it is.....it breathes heavily, every time it comes closer...."Come here Scarlett....I won't hurt...you." The thing kept on speaking and breathing......then saying, "Scarlett." I looking before me, there was a tree....tall and wide. I then turned back toward the creature....then it pounced....
4 days earlier...
I awoke from my slumber to find my room a mess...it looks like a tornado went through here. I then pulled the covers off of me, then grabbed my slippers, walked to my closet, pulled out my overalls, then threw them on. I went over to my little table, grabbed a brush, then pulled it to the side. Just then I saw my little kitten under my table, " Sugar...come on out..its ok." She always runs away from everyone, I was the one who rescued her from the streets...I heard meowing on the side on the streets while I was farming corn, then I slightly turned my head, then she was limping to me. I felt so sorry for her, I then grabbed some milk from the kitchen, just then I placed it down for her. Sugar is always gonna be my pride and joy, nothing will happen to her while I'm around. At that moment, there was a thud downstairs, I ran straight down the stairs, running to the kitchen. " Are you ok, Sara?" She looked at me and said, "It's none of your concern!" I looked down at my feet and saw that I stepped on something.... "Scarlett! Why did you step on my backpack!" "I'm sorry...I-I...." "Save it! When Dad and our step mom gets home! I can't wait till he sees what you've done!" I ran quickly back upstairs and went under my blankets...
Few hours Later
My Step Mom, Charlene and My Dad John came up the stairs and said, "Scarlett! Why did you step on Sara's backpack!" "I'm sorry...I didn't mean do too!" John came over to me, pulled off the covers. "Stop hiding Scarlett! You need to not step on your sisters stuff!" They both left...I sat there thinking...I wish I can just run away from this horrible life....
The next morning
Charlene came up to my bedroom and shook me awake, "What was that for?!" She told me, "Don't talk back to me! You need to go downstairs and make breakfast for all of us!" I looked up at her and said, "Yes ma'am....." I walked slowly downstairs to see everyone on the couch looking at me. I stepped into the kitchen and grabbed some eggs and toast and started cooking a casserole. I could hear Sara saying, "I wish I didn't have her as a twin papa she's so slow and annoying." John said, "I know sweetie.....I know...." I had the pan in my hand and look at it... "What did I do wrong?" Then Charlene said, "Scarlett! Are you almost done with those eggs! I'm starving!" I kept on looking down at the food and just ignored her...
A few minutes later
I grabbed all of the plates and sat them on the table. "Here you all go!" They all just came over and sat down. I grabbed a piece of toast and went to my room. I looked around and couldn't find Sugar. I went downstairs and still couldn't find her, "Oh sis! Are you looking for Sugar!" "Yeah! Do you know where she went?" She had this expression on her face, " Oh! I gave her away! You don't need a kitten anymore! All you do is work." I was in shock of what she had done, I then had tears in my eyes and ran out the door.
An hour later
I kept walking around town and looked for Sugar everywhere. Then I saw her, but she was with a little girl. I walked slowly towards the little girl and asked her, "Hey! Where did you get that kitten?" She turned toward me and screamed, "Stranger Danger! Stranger Danger!" I was freaking and was saying " No! I'm not gonna-" "Stranger Danger!" This guy then turned to the little girl and said, "It's ok, she doesn't look like she's gonna hurt you.." "Ok Papa!" He then looked at me, " Sorry! She gets scared easily, "Oh! It's ok...I didn't mean to scare her, I just came over here because I saw my kitten with her." "Oh! Sugar! We adopted her yesterday! That was her name when we got her so we decided to keep her!" I looked at him for a second and then spoke, "Well, I didn't give her away, my sister did without my consent." He spoke with with a deep sigh, " *Snickers* Well my daughter really loves Sugar, how about we let you see it! Like you come over to our house and hang out for a bit everyday!" I thought about it for a moment and then said, "Sure! That would work!" "Oh silly of me! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Jayden and my Daughters name is Luna! What's yours?" "Mine is....Scarlett! Also what a cute name you have Luna!" "Luna say thank you!" She muttered a little peep, " Thank you..." We both laughed and walked to his house.
Jayden's House
"What a lovely place you've got, we are farmers and we don't have much to live in." Jayden laughed and walked upstairs, I was left with his daughter Luna. "So Luna, I'm sorry again for scaring you." She gave a little mumble, " It's ok," she walked into the living room and sat on the couch. "So, Scarlett was it, if you can, would you watch Luna for me, I have to feed the neighbors dog, because they are out of town." " Of Course!" Jayden then left the house and locked the door. Luna came over to me and said, " So! Do you like my father?" I was so shocked on what she said, " No, I-I." Luna came me a frown and said, " I just wish....I could have a mother again...." I bent down to her height and said, " Oh...I'm sorry, I mean....I just met your father...maybe in the future you will have a mother...and she will love you and take care of you!" Luna gave me a hug. She said, " Ok...Scarlett...." "So...can you show me your toys?" Luna didn't speak a word and took my hand and pulled me quickly toward the stairs.
Later that evening
"I'm home!" Luna ran quickly down the stairs and said, " Papa!" I slowly walked down the stairs and I had a dress on, with some makeup that Luna put on me. "Scarlett...what are you wearing?" I told him, "Luna found this dress in your closet upstairs, she said I could wear it." Jayden sighed and walked to the kitchen. Luna then told me to bend down and she told me, "That's my mommy's dress...but..." "But What?!" "She died a few years ago, so when I was born mostly." I started tearing up and walked slowly in the kitchen and sat down where Jayden was sitting. "I'm sorry...I didn't know it was your wife's dress..." "*tears up* It's ok, you didn't know...it's just, you reminded me....of her..."
