I see him
A nightmare
casually walks past me
almost not noticing
me.
"Hey."
I have no words
"I've known you forever and
you don't even say anything
to me?"
I feel so small
"Well, that's okay."
he winks
but I am so tired,
empty
His eyes shine like
a hungry gargantuan beast
He smiles, amused
like we are sitting on the playground again
and not whole galaxies away from who we once were
