Frustration settled in with Augustine as he listened to the meeting go by. Mr. Carter kept interrupting Trisha every ten seconds it seemed. Though if you looked at Trisha you would never notice. She was able to answer all of his questions immaculately, and Augustine found himself ogling her with pride. Trisha was very good at her job, especially considering how Augustine had to get rid of his last Chief Financial Officer. The woman was truly incompetent, and Augustine had no idea how he kept her around for as long as she stayed. Trisha was efficient, and he knew that hiring her was the best decision he had ever made for his companies.
Looking around the room, Augustine studied how the men surveyed Trisha. Some of them didn't like being directed by a woman, and some didn't pay attention to the words that she was speaking, because they were too busy paying attention to her ass. The waist of her yellow dress hugged her curves perfectly. He bit his lip looking over her sexy frame, and the dress that made him crave her. The loose fabric sat flawlessly on her ample bottom, and flowed down to her knees. On anyone else the dress would be nice, but it was stunning on Trisha. He loved the way that the dress complemented her caramel skin. Skin that he just wanted to trace kisses all over.
At the realization of his thoughts, Augustine snapped out of his daydream just in time to hear Trisha bring the meeting to a close. Clearing his throat, Augustine stated, "I hope that this meeting has been as informative to the rest of you, as it has been to me. I hope after thoughtful consideration; we can move forward with the housing project." All the men stood up, and began to shake hands with one another. Trisha had a professional smile plastered over her face, and thanked the gentlemen for coming. As usual Augustine found himself staring at her. Her beauty, her demeanor, and just the overall way that she carried herself.
His smile faltered as he watched Mr. Carter approach her. Augustine had warned Mr. Carter before that if he spoke to her outside of business they would no longer be associated with one another. Trisha stiffened as Mr. Carter got closer to her, and Augustine quickly closed the space between them, and said, "Mr. Carter, I hope that the information provided by Ms. Lawler has been beneficial to our future collaborations."
"It has. Ms. Lawler is very good at her job. Too bad you found her before I did. She would be a great ass...set to my team. I just might have to make her an offer."
"With all due respect Mr. Carter, there's nothing you can offer her that I can't. Shall I see you to the elevator," Augustine asked with a smirk. Mr. Carter's lip pursed into a tight line, but he turned and began walking towards the elevator. Before leaving the room, Augustine winked at Trisha, causing a blush to creep up her cheeks.Gathering the material from the table, Trisha heard the ping of her phone. She looked down to see the email from Ms. Gonzaga. After carefully surveying all the items that she had chosen, Trisha confirmed the office supply order. Even though she wanted to be rude to the woman, Trisha knew that started drama with her would only hurt her job in the end. She didn't want to be fighting with the ex-wife of her boss. Even if the woman asked for it, Trisha had an image to uphold, and she wasn't going to let the rude woman destroy that.
Walking back to her office, she was excited that it was Friday night. She planned to go home, put her feet up, and have a glass of wine. It had been a stressful week, and some relaxation was just what she needed. As she passed her assistance Jennifer's desk, she stopped her. "Ms. Lawler we haven't gone over your itinerary for this weekend." Trisha's eyebrows furrowed together, but she motioned for Jennifer to follow her into her office. After making herself comfortable at her desk, Trisha asked, "What do you mean itinerary? I thought I was going to have a relaxing weekend with myself and a glass of wine."
"Well ma'am the gala is tomorrow. Don't you remember?"
"Ah yes. I completely forgot. Okay go ahead."
"The car will pick you up at noon to take you to the salon. There your hair, makeup and nails will be done. I will swing by and bring you a light lunch. By 4 p.m. you should arrive back at home with time to get dressed, and Mr. Ramirez shall be there no later than 6:15."
"Busy day it sounds like. Okay that all sounds great. Only one thing though... Don't worry about bringing me lunch. I can take something with me or order something. You have to get ready just as I do. No need to make you go out of your way to do something for me."
"I really don't mind."
"Jennifer it's fine. I can manage. If that is all you can leave for the day. I'll be leaving here shortly, so you can go if you want."
"Aww thanks Ms. Lawler. That gives me plenty of time to get to nail salon, and not run into rush traffic."
"Well go ahead sweetie, I'll see you tomorrow," Trisha said as Jennifer scurried out of the door.Trisha smiled as the young woman's red hair fluttered around her head, as she nearly sprinted out of the room. Trisha looked at the time, and gave herself an hour before she would leave the office too. She began checking her emails hoping that it would pass the time quickly. As she was deep in thought, she heard a soft knock at the door. Not looking away from her computer screen, Trisha yelled for them to come in. Before she looked up, she could smell the strong manly scent of Augustine's cologne. He was so intoxicating and it caused her to involuntarily slide her tongue across her bottom lip. An action that didn't go unnoticed by Augustine. His eyes darted to her now damp lip, and he wanted nothing more, but to feel them against his own.
For a moment the room was silent as the pair just gazed at each other longingly. Neither made a motion to speak. The only sound that could be heard was the constant ticking of the clock on the wall. After another moment, Augustine cleared his throat, and said, "I just came by to remind that I shall be picking you up no later than 6:15 tomorrow evening."
"Yes. I nearly forgot about the gala."
"It hasn't slipped by mind at all."
"Of course not you're hosting the event."
"That's definitely not the reason," he said eyeing her once again. Before their stare down could happen again, Augustine said his goodbyes and left her office. He slowly made his way to elevator, thinking to himself, "What the hell is wrong with me?"
