Sam and I are on our way to my old house. I get there and immediately look for Amani. She runs towards me tears pouring out her eyes.
"Don't leave, Mari" she begged pulling on my arm.
"I have to, Amani," I said trying not to cry. "Mom and Dad don't want me-"
"I do." she says cutting me off. "I love you." Then my dad cones behind Amani and pulls her back by her hair and smacks her across the face. I gasp for air and start to cry.
"How dare you?" I yell at him. Sam comes running in the house and punches my dad in his throat.
"We're taking Amani too, I don't care I will not let her suffer like you did." Sam shouts at me.
"Amani go get all your stuff. Clothes, hair stuff, blankets and go in the car now." I command her as she cries and runs upstairs to gather her stuff. Sam continues to punch my dad. I then run upstairs and gather my things. I get everything I need. I run back downstairs with Amani and get in the car. Sam comes running out after us and hurries to start the car. Then we drive to our new home.
Amani is in the backseat crying having bruises forming on her arms and her face. I never wanted her to go through what I did. Especially at the age of five. When we arrive I carry Amani to the front door and hand her to Xavier. Sam and I unload the truck and settle it down inside. Amani was sitting down on the couch so I sit by her and cuddle her.
"Its okay, Mani. Everything will be fine." I said stroking my hands through her hair.
"I hope so" she whispers to me.
~(Later That Night)~
I wash Amani up in a bath I drew for her. And have her put on some PJs. I put her hair in a tight braid. I did the same to myself.
We meet the boys downstairs for dinner and eat some Mac'N'Cheese.
"Don't worry girls, everything will be fine" Xavier stated breaking the silence.
"I hate my parents, and always will." Amani said and that socked everyone.
