Chapter 4
Jeff awoke in his bath tub. His head was pounding for some reason. He opened his eyes and too his horror his clothes were plastered in fresh blood. Oh god. It had happened. Again. This has happened numerous times. Jeff would wake up in the strangest places covered in blood and he had no memory of the previous night. Everytime this happened a Bloodied and ravaged body would appear.
Jeff raced out of the washroom and turn on the television. Damn. On the television was the news. And on the news was the story of a middle aged man. Found stabbed and bloodied in his boat. The picture they showed were disturbing. There was almost nothing left of the man. Just bits and peices.
Jeff sat down in his tattered armchair. He couldnt believe it. It couldnt happen again. Not now. The last case had just been dropped. Now another one was sure to be under way. Jeff put his hands on his face "I can't do this anymore. I can't handle running any longer." He tensed up. He had to keep running. Keep hiding. He didn't have a choice.
The television switched over to the investigation scene. The news reporter, A young woman. Stood next to a man. A man of middle age. A detective. Jeff stared in shocked. This time he would be caught for sure. The detective started talking and Jeff turned the volume up. "This has happened before. Numerous times, and everytime the murderer has escaped the law and his or her judgment day." The detective Put his hat on. "But not this time. This time I will find the one responsible. And I will dispose of the Murderer. No matter what it costs. We must find the one responsible." and with that he dismissed the camera and got too work.
The camera was back on the main news room. The reporter simply said. "Murderer, If you are watching. Please give yourself up. Maybe they will give you a choice of your fate if you do so. This has been the 6 O'clock news. Thankyou for watching." Jeff shut off the television. He couldn't give himself in. He wanted to know why this was happening. He wanted his questions answered. He wanted to be free.
Jeff got up and Walked over to his closet. He pulled off his bloodied clothes and through them in his burning barrel. He looked at himself in the mirrior. He had a fairly muscular build but he was still fairly skinny. He shook his head and searched for some new clothes putting on some worn out jeans and a white sweater. Almost an exact replica of his other one.
He closed his closet and walked over to his bed and sat down. He watched out his window. Mesmerized by all the people below. From his window he could see the docks, and the murder scene. He fell over on his bed and burried his face in his pillow. He couldn't hold the tears in anymore. He cried. His body shaking violently. "What do I do Liu? I don't know how much longer I can keep going on without you." he hugged his pillow tighter. "I need you brother." His breathes came out in quick shallow bursts. Jeff cried until he couldn't cry anymore.
