Three days later

Arthur came to the prison earlier that day, having a special day ahead of him.
He opened the interview room, seeing Alfred sitting at the table in handcuffs.

Arthur set down his heavy file and sat down, crossing his legs. His arms were also crossed, Alfred leaning into the table.
"They didn't tell me you were interviewing me." Alfred perked up, smiling a little.
"I would've done it earlier but I had my kids this weekend, so I couldn't work."

Alfred nodded slowly with a small laugh. "She let you see your kids?"
"After I got my shifts moved she's slowly going looser with not letting them come over. And I guess the girls were in a wonderful mood after returning home so she's gonna have to be more lenient."

Alfred nodded. "How are you today, Officer Kirkland?"
Arthur smiled, leaning in a bit. "I'm alright. Yourself?"
"I will admit my day has gotten better now that I get to see you earlier today." Alfred murmured, looking at the other.

Arthur opened up his file and took out the stack of papers, sighing. He pressed record on the recorder, looking up at Alfred. Might as well get to work now.

"Where were you the night of September twenty-sixth?" He asked, lacing his hands together as they folded on the table.

Alfred hummed, "Well, I was at my brother's house...I had begun playing some games. Call of Duty. Do I have to be that specific?"
"Anything that will help us solve this case Mister Jones. What happened in your brother's house?"
"Alright. I had played for like fifteen minutes before I heard what sounded like- like screams. I remember pausing the game and looking out. I saw Mattie had been shot and the other was standing over him."

"What did you do after that?" Arthur asked reluctantly, seeing how Alfred was getting a little choked up.

"I ran out of the house- I tended to Mattie as best as I c-could... His blood was all over me. He died- he died when the police got there. T-They took me in. The weapon. It was on the scene. N-No one saw it. I swear, I couldn't k-kill my little brother. Mattie was so sweet, and kind. I could never imagine killing h-him. Could you excuse m-me?" Alfred looked up, gripping the table. Arthur nodded slowly, stopping the tape recorder.

"It's alright Alfred, I promise you...I don't think you did it." He murmured, standing up. "Calm down Love, it's alright." He cooed to him, kissing Alfred's head.

Alfred tilted his head, kissing Arthur softly. The policeman smiled into it, wiping away Alfred's tears as they embraced. "I don't mean to cry and get all emotional," Alfred mumbled. Arthur shook his head, running a hand through his hair soothingly. "Don't worry about it."
"We can continue now," Alfred nodded, looking up at Arthur.

Arthur sighed, reluctant to continue. Alfred kissed his stomach, up to his chest, now standing. "I'll be okay Artie, if it happens again I'll tell you." He smiled, cupping Arthur's cheeks. Arthur was lucky he disconnected the cameras before starting the interview or there would be some real questions.

Arthur sat down opposite of Alfred once again, arms crossed. "My name is Arthur." He pouted before continuing his interview.

"Mister Jones, was anyone out to get your brother? Did he seem suspicious at all in the last few weeks of his life?"
"No sir! He was so sweet and kind. If there was something going on why wouldn't he tel me? Mattie and I told each other everything! He wouldn't hide something important from me. I know he wouldn't."

Alfred took a deep breath, rubbing his temples vigorously. "I don't know Officer. I'm being framed though. I assure you. My brother was my best friend, I never laid a finger on him. Matthew he...he helped me through so much. The thought of me killing him it's...it's fucking sickening."
