They continued to stay at the hospital, Alfred and Arthur. Once in a while a news crew would come in to see if Alfred was worth reporting and most of the time he was.

A good week had passed and the healing process had begun for Alfred. Both mentally and physically. He wasn't used to the outside world, having been held up in a prison for so long. He couldn't fathom the freedom he was feeling. It was nice, and he missed it.

However today, he was released from the hospital. He got to go home. Or well, Arthur's home. He didn't quite have a home. Besides Arthur insisted Alfred move in. So, he was.

"It's not as large and extravagant as you think it is." Arthur chuckled as he drove, looking over at his lover. Yes a ring rested on his finger but he hadn't a clue of what he was to his lover.

"Well I'm not thinking a mansion," Alfred retorted. "But you're a good officer. I figured that was some good salary coming in."

"Well.. I suppose I'm doing better than average, yes. But you can't assume that means a lot."

"How many bedrooms?" Alfred cut the Brit off, crossing his arms.
"Four.. With two and a half bathrooms. Alright, I see your point." Arthur chuckled. "Well you'll have your own bedroom. So be happy about that. I've been decorating it a bit these past few days. And goodness the girls couldn't be more excited to meet you for real."

Alfred hummed. He'd constantly heard about Arthur's daughters. He just didn't know how he would match up as a parent. It absolutely terrified him. He just didn't think he was fit to care for children. Especially since prison had hardened him so much.
God who was he kidding? He couldn't be a parent. He couldn't ever raise kids. It would be horrible! What if he raised them up wrong?

"Alfred?" A soft voice cut Alfred away from his thoughts, causing the sandy blonde to turn his head, laughing a bit sheepishly.

"Oh, sorry. Guess I zoned out, huh?" He laughed, rubbing his temples. "Sorry, that sucks on my part. Were you saying anything?"

Arthur shook his head, pulling into his driveway, stretching out his limbs. "No, I was just telling you we're here but you were in a whole other universe." He teased, leaning over to kiss his lover's cheek, holding his hand. "Are you okay?"

"Oh, of course I am." Alfred replied, nodding his head. "I'm just tired, is all. I swear I'm okay." He added, when he saw Arthur's skeptical stare.

"Alright. Well the girls are in the house with Michelle, they'll be really jumpy and excited to see us. Just a friendly warning." He whispered, getting out of his car. A nice oldie.

Arthur, with Alfred following, trekked to the door, unlocking it. Alfred could hear the tiny gasps and giggles of the girls as the door swung open, Alfred and Arthur opening their eyes in shock.

Michelle, holding onto Ellie's small hand, stood before them, London working on some drawings.
A large banner written by the girls hung across the kitchen cabinets. "Welcome Home Alfred-Daddy."
Half of it was spelt wrong, but that wasn't the point.

Arthur faintly smiled and Alfred nudged his lover, laughing a bit breathlessly. He was so surprised. It looked as if his eyes were shining again. Like they used to.

"I- you planned this." Alfred laughed some more, looking over at Arthur again, who shook his head. "No, no I didn't."

Alfred stepped inside the house, as well as Arthur, closing the door behind them.
His daughters ran up to Alfred, looking up at him. Arthur stood by Michelle, who was talking to Arthur about how lucky he was to have a real looking man. (Like she didn't before?)
