michaels pov

"so how was your first day?"

i asked ashton whilst he walked inside the apartment quickly taking off his shoes and walking towards the fridge to grab a beer 

"it was better than i imagined mike, everyone always says how jobs are the worst but i guess it is true that when u pick a job you love you will enjoy it the most"

ashton smiled sitting next to me wrapping one arm around me sipping his beer with the other  hand

"oh yeah i also met calum hood, he has a wife and a new born so i invited him and his wife around next week so they could have some chill time with us, i mean new borns are hard"

ashton chuckled shaking his head 

"i want kids one day"

i smiled at the thought of mini michaels running around the house with a mystery man that i hope i will be happy with in the future

"i hope you find the right guy for you mike, i really do- no i dont mean louis"

ashton sighed standing up and getting his bag walking to his room

i guess it never occurred to me how much my close friends and family don't like the idea of me and louis to be together, i mean i guess i knew that him and i wouldn't last forever anyways

i heard a buzz in front of me which was coming from ashton's phone since he left it

Luke Hemmings (Boss IMPORTANT) : Mr. Irwin?

i laughed at the name ashton had given his new boss

i picked up ashton's phone replying the text for him

Ashton :  Yes, Mr. Hemmings?

Luke Hemmings (Boss IMPORTANT) : I would just like to inform you that there will be a small dinner with a few of your co - workers at my house tomorrow night, so please bring any family member you have or just yourself will be fine

Ashton : Thank You, Mr Hemmings i will be sure to bring my brother :)

i instantly regretted putting the smiley face at the end of my text probably looking silly

Luke Hemmings (Boss IMPORTANT) : alright :D

i laughed instantly feeling calmer that he had sent an even smilier face back to me

i continued to work on my assignment on my laptop leaving ashton's phone on the coffee table in front of me

"hey michael"

louis walked from behind me intertwining our hands 

"hey lou"

i smiled at him giving him a peck on the cheek and leaning my head on his shoulders

"what are your plans for tonight?"

he asked out of curiosity

"i think ashton's boss asked him to come for dinner so theres that"

"yea?"

"mhmm"

i smiled at him and stopping when i reached the door of my class

"you'll be the reason ashton gets his next promotion, you have the personality of rainbows and sunshine, my beautiful baby"

louis smiled and leaned in pressing his lips onto mine, although there wasn't the usual spark that i used to get 2 years ago it still felt nice to have him here for me

"okay bye, sweets"

louis let go of my hands and walked to his next class

as i was walking into my next class i felt my phone vibrate from the back of my pocket

"hello?"

"michael?"

"yes ash?"

"did u text my boss?"

"Luke Hemmings in brackets boss IMPORTANT in all caps bracket?"

"yes him"

ashton laughed

"yes, yes i did"

"mikey don't do that, what if u said something to get me fired?"

ashton started rambling talking about the different 'what if' scenarios

"ok bye class is starting"

"michae-"

i hung up on ashton and put my phone on airplane mode finding for a place to sit and continuing on with my day

i'm not so sure how i'm doing and i feel like i'm failing so far :")
