Chapter 2: In the Flesh

I open my eyes, everything is all bright.. I don't think I'm dead but i do feel very faint. I ask myself, "Where am i?" But i get no response. I try opening my eyes more and i see I'm in bed, in a room surrounded by lots of flowers, and some get well cards? I'm strapped to an IV tube as well. I put two and two together and realize IM IN A HOSPITAL??? How? What happened to me?? I don't remember anything, everything's kinda foggy. One things for sure i should get out of here but when i try to get up i fall down, as if my legs feel like jello and rocks. How did this happen to me i wonder, I'm covered in a lot of burn wounds. i gotta remember.

I get down slowly and immediately fall to the ground, then it hit me. "That's right! I was in some war and we won! Well it looks like we did. but where are the others?"

I grabbed a cane and limped across the hall. A lady with a loud yet soft tone in her voice stops me.

"Stop! You're supposed to get lots of bed rest. You haven't fully recovered—oh my zapfish, JARED YOU'RE AWAKE!" I turn around-

"Says you, I'm just fine-agh crap, and how do you know my name?" I kneel down a little due to the weakness in my stomach and legs, but i look up to notice it's Summer! "Wait a minute. What are YOU doing here??"

"I'm just a nurse intern. I have to check on the patients and make sure they're okay. Doing turf wars all the time for money gets exhausting after a while."

"Thanks for the concern but really i should get going." She asked where while handing me a wheelchair to get in.

"I'm not too sure yet. But i might go home."

"Uhh you wanna go all the way to Inkopolis Plaza right now?" I asked what she meant by all the way there. "You're not in Inkopolis Plaza anymore, you're in Inkopolis Square."

"I have no idea what that place is but mind taking me outside to show me around?" She pushed me to fresh air and... WHOA. This place is just as awesome as the plaza! Look at all the stores, and people, it looks even more crowded too. Is that a food truck? I'm so hungry! "Um how did i end up here?"

"Well after we got the city repaired we decided to take you to this hospital since you were planning to go here anyway." I was? "I think it was I.A? I didn't get accepted there so I don't-"

"Wait yes, that was the place! I remember it! Could you take me there, Summer?" She groaned but caved in. It was a pretty fair distance from the hospital. We arrive at the building and man does it look cool. The buildings were all pretty massive with shiny green and pink I.A initials on the front gate. There were a lot of inklings and Octolings walking around... wait what??

"Uh Summer? Why are there Octolings around the place??"

"Ohh yeah, you were asleep for so long, some Octolings reformed and wanted to live here. As if someone changed them." I can't believe it, i knew they could all live in harmony with one another. "Sadly there is some heavy racism between both species but we all got tentacles so who cares."

"So true. Oh I'll take the rest over from here, thanks for leading me to this place!"

"Hey no problem! Gotta run back before they fire me or something." As Summer left i rolled over to see the inside of the place and it was just as big and beautiful as the outside! I could get used to this.

"Hey is that who i think it is?" An old man ran up to me. To my surprise it was Cap'n Cuttlefish, even he's here. "Jared! Glad to see you're with the living again!"

"Yeah but I'm still pretty weak. I might have to wait to recover before i get settled here." He agreed as he pushed me around and showed me everything I.A. had to offer. "Hey why are you here?"
