Jared's POV
It's been a couple of days now since our team formed and we've been getting along fairly well. Emma and me have always been on good terms. Rocco is cool but doesn't really speak to us much, he just follows orders and does his work. David is a good leader but can be in a pretty crappy mood most of the time. We've been playing in rank most of the time and won maybe three matches out of twenty, our teamwork needs some improvement. We recently played another rank match and the results were us winning.
"Finally a win, I'm sick of this losing streak you guys."
"We wouldn't be in this losing streak if somebody didn't give us such impossible orders."
"Maybe you should improve your skills, I can fill all of your roles no problem." He could stop bragging any day now.
"I can't just get a Hydra while two other guy's are on my tail."
"Emma is trying her best, David. Maybe you could tone it down a little."
"You have no excuse either, your range can easily challenge Jet Squelchers and Splat Brellas but instead you die a lot." He makes it sound so easy a lot... Maybe he doesn't remember we don't have the range he does but he's a pro soooo.
"Hey, you ever thought of showing us how to use that?"
At first he laughed at the thought of showing us how to use the E-Liter but then he realized it might just make us all like him. Emma and Rocco actually wasn't interested but I couldn't refuse the offer, I never did learn chargers before. We left the Tower and went to different places, me and David went to the testing room to practice. He wanted me to do all this advance stuff like "snap my shot" whatever that is, and hit the moving targets right away. I hope he realizes IM NOT THAT GOOD.
"Ugh you're doing it all wrong." He groaned.
"This is very hard, I don't know how you charger players have such good accuracy."
"It's practice, kid. We aren't leaving until you hit those moving targets like this." He hits all three of them in just a few seconds.. eh I'll give it another go. I charge the E-Liter up slowly and manage to almost hit one this time. "Hm close but not enough." I swear I had that shot but my hands were shaking, I'll try again because I think I got this.
"Finally I found you." An Inkling comes out of nowhere and dashes straight towards David, he misses and hits me instead with his Inkbrush. "Haha how do you like my sneak attack... wait you're not David."
"I'm not now could you please get this brush out of my face!"
"Ha sorry bout that." He helps me off the ground after brutally smacking me and says his name is Preston. "That was meant for that guy."
"I'm Jared and why are you hitting my friends?"
"Any reason why you're here?"
"Oh we don't see each other in two years and that's what I get?" I asked a question...
"I remember now, hardly recognized you with your new buff meat head look. You used to be a glasses wearing nerd." Hello???
"Oh says the guy who had braces and glasses too. You look way cooler now though." Oh never mind they were friends before, can't believe David has friends considering he always likes being alone and is... well yknow not the nicest person on the block. "I'm here cuz I just heard you were in the area and wanted to pop up.."
"Kinnnnnnda creepy, shouldn't you get going?"
"Oh uh another reason I'm here was because I was hoping to join your team." Another member? Great welcome aboard-
