•Harriet's P.O.V•
It was 5:30 am and I'd just gotten out the shower. Why am I up so early, you ask? Well, it's Zoe's birthday today and since she's such an early riser, we all have to be up even earlier in order to decorate and set things up in time. Although, I'm up even earlier than everyone else so I can get dressed and do my makeup, because without it I look like a ten year-old boy and I don't want Joe to see me like that. I mean, not that I care about how he sees me, it's just that he hasn't seen me in so long, I don't want him to think I'm still the twelve year old I was when we last saw each other. But like I said, I don't even care so whatever.
After blow drying my hair, I put on the outfit that was laid out on my bed; a pink alien crop top underneath a cute dungaree dress with patches on and a pair of fine fishnet tights. I french braided my hair and applied my makeup, choosing my Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Babe Alert, before I moved on to jewellery. I decided on my flower child choker trio, my grey bee watch and last but not least, my spring flowers watercolour phone case. We would be going to stay at a hotel later and to go out, I would wear my white converse and my pink baseball bomber jacket but for now I stayed barefoot and jacketless.
Once I was dressed I went downstairs and found Alfie, Poppy, Sean and Joe down there. Poppy and Sean got here last night, not long after Joe and stayed over as well.
"Morning, Haz." Alfie greeted me along with everyone else.
"Morning." I replied, returning the smile they all gave me. One of Zoe's best friends, Mark got up not long after me and we all got to decorating. I met Mark for the first time last night and he's such a cool guy, he's so funny, down-to-earth and just an easy person to get on with. I can already tell we're going to be great friends.
"Hey, how come you're dressed already?" Poppy asked me when I walked over to help her cut up the fruit we would be using for Zoe's breakfast.
"I just wanted to be ready for the day." I shrugged, cutting up the mango.
"So, you're not trying to...impress anybody?"
I turned to my sister with a confused look, "No...Pop, what are you on about?"
"Nothing, I just remember you used to have a crush on Joe and I just thought-"
"Yes, used to, as in not anymore. Poppy, do you really think I'm going to have the same feelings as when I was twelve years old? And besides, it wasn't even a proper crush." I insisted, "I just got dressed early so it's one less thing I have to do later. Simple as." Once I'd managed to convinced my sister that what she thought was wrong and after I'd helped her a bit with the breakfast, I got back to helping the others decorate.
"Harrie," Joe got my attention and I walked over to him with a smile, "Could you help me tie this balloon?" He asked, holding out the 7 shaped balloon that went with a 2 shaped balloon to make 27.
