Recap:

"So am I meeting him?" Mike asks with hope in his eyes. For a second, I completely forgotten he's still there listening to our conversation. "No you're not," I snapped. "In fact, no one is."

I stood up, ready to leave.

"Honey, please consider about meeting him," Mom begged.

I sighed. "Mom, the answer is no, no matter what. He only wants us back because of your success on your business. Don't fall for it." I took a deep breath and looked at her.

"Please don't," I whispered.

Jessica's POV

The wind blew my chocolate brown hair away from my face as I sat peacefully on the tree branch, watching the kids on the playground play.

They look so carefree. Just laughing and having fun like there's nothing holding them back.

I swing my legs around.

I really hope mother will not fall for his acts. After what he did, she stills forgive him. All through my childhood, I've wished for him to come back. Or just a simple call would do it. But each year passed by, I lost hope. And I learned that he's abandoned us, and I chose to accept it afterwards. Now, all that I felt for him is hatred.

Since today's Saturday, I thought about spending my time here. Whenever I'm feeling down or just need to think, I've always spend my time here since no one will bother me. This tree is further away from the others, just the way I like it. When I was young, I wonder why this tree was isolated from the others. That's what made me like this tree. It's just like me.

"Jessica?!"

A voice brought me back to reality. I flinched in surprise as I lost balance on the branch. My voice let out a high-pitched scream as I jerked backwards, ready to fall onto the ground. I squinted my eyes shut, waiting for the impact to happen but seconds later, it never did. Peeking my eyes open, I was met with a pair of striking blue eyes.

He grinned, "I caught you."

"William?" I furrowed my eyebrows. His lips twitched into a smirk. "Oh, so now we're on first name basis?" He asks, half jokingly.

I scowled and rolled my eyes. He chuckled at my reaction. Realizing the position we are in, I cleared my throat as I felt a slight blush creeping out. I jumped off from his hold, awkwardly. Wait, since when do I blush because of him? I groaned in annoyance.

"What are you even doing up there?"He asks, his eyebrows cocked up in the cutest way possible. Hold up, did I just described him as cute? Something is definitely wrong with you Jessica. I shrugged, "Enjoying the view, is that a crime Mr.Carter?"
