"Of course he would snap at some point. He's been drugged up ever since graduation. When I get through with that scumbag, he's gonna wish..." Seth ranted as he walked inside the house.
He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw his former best friend standing over Lyla and Nellie. Nellie was knocked out. Lyla was sobbing next to her. Her face was bloody and she was only wearing her pants and bra. Eli seemed to be ready to take that off too when he was cut off by the three remaining friends bolting inside the house.
"Wish what?" he asked. "Get your hands off of her." Seth said angrily, raising his knife at the other boy. "Oh come on, this is between me and the love of my life." he said, putting his lips on her neck. Lyla shrieked up, her face showing nothing but disgust at this point.
"Get away from her!" Seth yelled once more. Eli only chuckled as he looked back up at his ex-friend. Seth turned around to Ryder and Thea. "Go. Run down the road. Sheriff Matthews must be on his way." Seth instructed.
Both shoock their heads. "Go! Run!" he yelled again, slamming the door shut and locking it. He could only hope that just this once they'd listen to him and do what he says.
Seth inched closer to the couch, putting his fingers against Nellies throat. There was still a pulse. He held back a sigh of relieve. "I'm not done with her." Eli said. "What happened to you man? When did you turn into this?" Seth asked him.
Eli laughed again as he sat down on a chair next to the couch. "Huh." he breathed out when he was done. "Well, it actually started out as a pretty trivial argument between me and Miss Mabel Lawson." he started.
"Did you have a thing with Mabel too?" Seth asked. "I tried. But...you know, that stupid girl code. She just couldn't betray Lyla like that." Eli answered. "Or maybe assholes like you weren't her type." Lyla said angrily. She couldn't even begin to describe the disgust she was feeling about the way he was talking about their dead best friend as if she was just a piece of meat.
"Point taken, honey." Eli smirked. Lyla growled under her breath. Seth wanted nothing but to wipe that smirk off his face, but let him keep talking anyway. "That night after the party after I had dropped everyone in my car off, I drove to that abandoned fair we used to play at. You know, to finally give her what she wanted. I saw the way she was looking at me at the party." he explained.
"She didn't want you though! So you what, raped her? Your best friend?" Seth asked, trying not to gag as he thought about how scared she probably was that night. Eli slammed his fist on the table. "I don't do that!" he yelled.
"You tried to rape me just now." Lyla said angrily. Eli schook his head wildly. "No, no, no. You kept talking about how you wanted me back and I want it too. You know I tried doing with other girls what we've done all those nights, but no one compares to you." he said, smiling at her as if that would bring her back now.
"So that's all I am to you? A body? A piece of meat to have fun with and dump as soon as the next big-titted girl walks by? Well, forget it. Someone that calls me the love of their live would never just silence me while I'm trying to confront them about things. They don't rip my shirt off and punch me in the face when I fight back. And then hit me over the head with something. Bind me, stuff their girlfriends underwear in my mouth - god! What did you do to that poor girl?" Lyla asked.
"We where in the woods, looking for your sister...well, she was anyways, I know where she is after all..." he said, then broke out into laughter. Lyla clenched her fists, not even aware that she had already struck him before she could even think of the consequences.
Eli spat out a little blood, then bolted to over to Nellie, holding the knife to her throat. "No more surprises. One more step towards me and you'll have her blood on your hands, quite literally." he said.
"Stop! Leave her out of this!" Lyla pleaded. "Enough! Drop your knife!" he barked at Seth. He hestitated. Eli pressed the knife further into her skin. Seth finally dropped it. "Now, why don't I finish the story." he said.
"I quickly got bored from all the searching that would lead to nowhere anyway. So I started kissing her, you know, what couples do. But she just pushed me away. Said that this was inappropriate right now." Eli said mockingly. As if Mae had never meant anything to him and her death seemed like a joke.
"But I wanted her then, so I took what belonged to me." he explained. "You're sick." Seth said. "Tell me something I don't know." Eli laughed. "So when we were done, she was on the floor bawling her eyes out. I asked her what was wrong and she said we're over and wanted to run off on me. I couldn't have her cross my plans though, so I did the only thing I could." he said, a blank expression on his face.
"So what happened with Mabel?" Seth asked. "Well as I was trying to be with her, she bit me and ran off. So I ran after her. She didn't get very far. Those heels can be rather tricky when running. At first, I just wanted to take what was mine and leave. I did that first part, but as she was laying there, sobbing, I already had my hands around her throat and before I knew it I put pressure her neck and suddenly, as her last breath escaped her lungs, I realized just how good that felt." Eli explained.
Seth had to be rational now. All he wanted to do was lash out at him for what he did to those girls, but if were to Nellie would die and he didn't want that. "You would have gotten away with that. Why kill everyone? Why not just stop and let grass grow over the whole thing?" he asked.
"Well, while I was carrying Mabels body into my car, I suddenly heard something. It sounded like a silent sob. I turned around and saw none other than your baby sister Mae with her boyfriend. He was trying to keep her quiet and for a second I thought about killing him and doing to her what I'd done to Mabel, because it just felt so good. But I knew that two girls turning up dead on the same day would be suspicious. Especially if both of them were linked to me. So I let them run and dropped Mabel in that ditch." he said.
"Mae knew? But why did you have to kill her now? She had to have been quiet about this whole thing." Lyla sobbed. "Well, yeah, she was. Not just because I threatened to do the same to her-" he said. "But you didn't?" Lyla asked. "Patience." he warned. "But no, I only stabbed her. A lot. I'm guessing she was in a lot of pain. At first I wanted to though, but that wasn't my mission. She was about to talk and her boy toy too, so I had to get rid off them. So I sent him to Naomis place. And by that, killed three bird with one stone, literally." he said.
"What about Tyler?" Seth asked. "Colletaral damage. And he was an asshole. He deserved that." Eli said. Lyla had been quietly sobbing for the most part but couldn't hold it back anymore.
"Shhh, shhh." Eli made caressing her face. "I know you're sad about Mae and Mabel, but don't worry..." he said, leaning down toward her. "When I kill these two, you'll await the same fate." he whispered in her ear.
Lyla grunted angrily, pulling a tiny swiss knife out of her pockett, she jabbed it into his eye. Eli screamed angrily, pulling the knife back out. Lyla jumped off the couch, kicking the knife out of Elis hand. Seth picked up his and threatened the other boy with it.
Eli backed off. Seth slowly chased him toward the basement door. And finally into it and locked it. "Lyla, come on we gotta take Nellie and..." he stopped when he saw the blonde sob over the couch. He walked towards her, looking down at Nellie. Her eyes were wide opened and her throat was slashed.
"You killed her!" Seth yelled towards the basement door. "That was your fault. You could have just accepted your fate." Eli yelled back. Seth was running toward the door, ready to yank it open and kill him when Lyla held him back.
"No! We have to go!" Lyla said, dragging him away. "Come on!" she yelled again when he wouldn't budge. "Please..." she pleaded. Seth finally bolted for the front door. "You're gonna regret this!" Eli yelled angrily. "Shut up!" Seth yelled slamming the door shut. "Let's go!" Seth said as they took off for the road.
Inside the house, the basement door opened and Eli stepped out. Smirking, he went over to where Lyla kicked his knife. Then walked over to Nellies dead body. Leaning down he said "I'm sorry, but that wasn't how this was supposed to go down. But now that they're out I need to set the final stage of this night in motion." he said. He grabbed the knife and walked out the door. "Game on." he said, running after the two escapees.
