A body was hanged in the house's balcony, and we can't really see his face and suddenly, my Aunt and her friend was about to go out, but I ordered them not to.
"Aunt call an ambulance and call the police. Now!" I shouted from outside and she obeyed what I have said and dial something on her phone.
Upon walking the two guest inside, I asked the house butler if he have all of the house's rooms key.
"Yes, ma'am" he replied
"No one is going to leave this room!" I shouted, and I faced my aunt "Make sure no one leave this room, ok. Come with me" I ordered the butler
I run with the butler towards the room of that balcony, and according to him it was the room of the young master Angelo. How I wish he is not the one who is dead. The noise only be heard was the clicking of my heels in the marble floor of the house with the butler's shoes. As we reached the room. I tried to open the door, but it was locked. I asked for the key and the butler gave it to me. As I opened the door, the toilet papers was littered around the room, from the chandelier, to the floor. When I saw the glass door to the balcony, I tried to open it, but it was also locked!
"Butler, where is the key to the balcony?" I shouted from inside.
"The young master only has it ma'am" he answered
What!? So, is it really a suicide? I kicked the glass door without asking the butler when I kick to break the glass door and I'm sure he flinches in the sound of it. And I saw the rope, which was tied in the stone railings. I immediately check for his pulse, but it was none, his already gone. And when I tried to look for his face, someone shouted his name.
"ANGELO!!!" Mrs. De Lucca shouted in horror that his son is dead.
"Olivia, how is he?!" my aunt asked, I turn my head side by side, telling her he is gone.
But minutes later, the wails of the police cars came in view, and now I'm standing on the room's door. Waiting for the paramedics to remove the body from where it hangs.
Suddenly I saw my uncle and his friend Chief Inspector Satori Tadashi.
"Livie, I heard everything to your Aunt, you did good, now leave everything to us." He said and I nodded in agreement. But I'm not convince with the face that it is a suicide, something is not right, something is off, and something is missing. But what is it? Tsk! What a pain in the ass!
After a while, they pulled the body up and lay it down the balcony where it was found. And suddenly someone came with a little note in his hand. From the looks of it, it was Police Officer Akashi Seiko with Police Detective Yahiro Kagami and the Detective Inspector Yoshiro Kizami.
"Oh? Olivia-san" Police Officer Akashi Seiko said "You really are here. So? What are you doing here?" he asked innocently
"The banquet, it just a coincidence that the crime happens here, and the victim is my aunt's friend son."
"Livie? I want you to stay here for some questions." My uncle ordered and I walked towards him with Police Officer Akashi Seiko in tow. And from the corner of my eyes I caught the two looking at me intently which is I hate.
"Livie, what time did you see the body?" my uncle asked
"We arrived at here exactly 6:49 pm, after that we were welcomed by the mansion butler and lead us to the ballroom area, where all the guest is, that is the time I was introduced to the Lady of this house, Megumi De Lucca and after a while his son came, and she introduced him to us, that was the time I met the victim, Angelo Lucas De Lucca, unfortunately I didn't meet the Lord of the house. After that we have a diminutive mix-up. I found the body after I heard scream from the pool area, which was around 9:36 pm."
"Wait did you say? Diminutive Mix-up?!" Police Officer Akashi said it in a surprised state. "Don't tell me..."
"Hey! Don't jump in the conclusion there, young man" I alleged in an erudite tone. "The story is just about to begin."
"Begin?" he asked confusedly
"Well it is for you police to investigate that" I said playfully and walked away. And I walked out of the room, looking for my aunt and maybe freaking out now.
"OLIVIA!" and someone called me. And I turn around I saw my aunt now wearing my uncle's coat. And holding a thermos of hot coffee.
"Aunt Rebeca."
"Are you alright?" she asked
"Good as new. By the-" I couldn't continue what I'm about to say when someone bump me from behind and when I turn around to see who is it, it was a high school student about my age, wearing a baseball cap.
"Sumimasen" he said
"Watch where you going brat." I said coldly. I don't mean to be rude but I'm getting frustrated with the things going around in my head.
"What?!" he shouted, but I didn't mind him at all, and started walking towards my aunt and her mourning friend.
"Sorry, for the lost Mrs. De Lucca, my deepest condolence" I said bowing at her, and I walked away towards the ballroom area where the whole guest is with the police who are asking question in each of them, and I saw the young woman named, Ayazawa Miho. She was being questioned by the police officer with her colleagues.
In her right a man in his 40 years old, he has this thick eye glasses, and a mean looking eyes, and big fat belly. But from his looks, he is a businessman or something. And from her left, a man on her age, he has this simple, and pleasant look, something will remind you of a tranquil river. I walked towards them, and just a right time, the one interviewing them is my uncle's friend. Chief Inspector Satori Tadashi.
I passed by on them and return to the crime scene, where I found the body is ready to set outside. I looked persistently in the body of the victim. And I remembered what my mother said when I was still a junior student reading Agatha Christie's mystery novels.
Now, listen to me Livie, when the victim committed suicide using rope the bruise must be an inverted V shape and it must not horizontal. And speaking of suicide, the body mustn't have any weird things on it, if not that is not suicide, that's what you call a murder case now.
Now that is interesting. Suddenly the forensics man excused himself as his team came to bring the body outside the crime scene.
After that I told my Uncle what I saw in the body for me to become interested.
"We will bring him to an autopsy now." He said and ordered one of his man to the pathologist.
I asked for a glove from the forensics man, and suddenly Chief Inspector Satori Tadashi came looking at me with curiosity.
"Olivia, what are you doing here in the crime scene?"
"I'm looking the missing piece of the puzzle. Mind if you help me, Chief Inspector Satori Tadashi?"
