A Mystery To Solve🔎

George put me on the couch and the lads all gathered around me.

"He killed her, I can't believe this."

I sat in a daze, while Paul and George gave each other puzzled looks.

"Love, what are you talking about, do you feel alright?"

George sat beside me and put the back of his hand to my forehead.

"He killed her." I mumered again still in shock.

George looked up at Paul and he shrugged his shoulders.

"Claire, who did what?"

I breathed heavily as the lads all sat down in front of me.

"George's dad."

Their eyes widened.

"My dad did what?"

George laid his hand on mine.

"He- he.......he killed your mother."

The room grew silent. George stood up slowly, and began to pace around the room.

"Claire, I know my father isn't exactly perfect.

But there is one thing I do know, and that is he loved my mother."

George's voice cracked.

I shook my head as the tears welled up in my eyes.
"George, you have to believe me I know what I heard."

John glanced at Paul and Ringo motioning them to follow him out of the room.

George watched as they left.

"Okay, Claire let's start from the beginning.

What was the whole conversation?"

He sat down in a chair in front of me.

I nodded and took a deep breath.

"Well, he asked if he could see you. I told him that you were busy and weren't available."

I racked my brain trying to think of everything that happened.

Right now my mind was a blurr, and I had absolutely no idea what was going on.
"Then somehow he figured out that we were together."

George swore under his breath and put his fist to his mouth.

"You didnt tell him your name did you?"

I shook my head.

"I gave him a fake name, but he didnt seem to believe me."

George sighed and motioned me to go on.

"Then he started asking me all these questions till I just couldn't stand it anymore and blew up on him.

I spilled everything that I knew!"

My face was covered in hot tears as they rolled out of my eyes.

George breathed about to say something.

"Wait, I told him how much you needed him, and then he said something absolutely horrid! George........it scared me."

George's eyes softened as he wrapped me in his arms.

"What did he say?" His voice was piercing and sharp.

"He said that you had it coming to you............and so did your mother."

I sobbed out into George's shoulder as he squeezed him tighter.

George's POV........

My heart beat trippled and my eyes began to burn.

He did kill her.

The memories were all coming back.

Suddenly everything around me changed.

I was in my house in Liverpool.

I walked through the house as I looked at all my old things.

I walked into the kitchen,when I saw a note on the table.

I picked it up and my hands could hardly hold on to the paper.

It was my mother's hand writing.

Dear George,
Me and your father have gone out for our anniversary. We should be back tomorrow afternoon. I left plenty of sandwiches in the fridge for you. There may possibly be enough for John and the rest of the lads if you dont eat all of them! See you soon.

                   Love your mum

My heart sank as I laid the paper back down on the table.

I laid my fingertips on my mothers beautiful handwriting, tracing every word.

"George!?

George are you home!"

Dad?

I ran into the living room to find my father standing in the doorway soaked in rain water.

"George its your mother, she's- shes...........dead."

My head throbbed and suddenly I was back at the cabin holding Claire in my arms.

Claire looked at me as she took both of my hands.

"George, honey are you okay?"

I shook my head as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"I saw him, I saw my father."

The image came back, but this time I saw something I never had before.

As I remembered the picture in my mind.

I saw my father with a bullet hanging out of his jacket pocket. 

"Claire, he really did kill my mother."
