My primary school days were not the best but the one thing that I looked forward to was, lunch time recess and dismissal. Everything about those three words were the most exciting thing anyone could hear. Unlike most American schools ,we had a cafeteria but no hall with hundreds of chairs to sit and eat. We ate in our classes or told our friends to hold our lunch while we climbed the trees in the Orchard and we'd eat there. All schools both non-government and government schools were provided for and since my parents knew that they couldn't afford to give me money everyday, I took school meals. There were a lot of home - made lunches but my favorite part about morning was breakfast. Breakfast meals consisted of things like cupcakes, bread and sausage, sweet-bread. I hated bread and American cheese but I call it Swiss cheese. It tasted like plastic in my mouth. Up to this day I don't eat it. All the kids would happily eat their meal while the few like myself would quietly scorn the food and drink juice or water until lunch time
