6am was the alarm clock of every child under the age of eight in my neighbourhood. Only God knows why we never slept in. Almost every morning was the same . Wake up, forget to brush our teeth , stay in our pajamas , eat breakfast, yell our cousins' name informing them we were awake and from 8am to 11am or even one in the afternoon. When our mothers investigated we hadn't had a bath for the morning and hadn't eaten lunch, they'd call us in. Summoning us to our daily punishment, a bath. Lunch was obviously the treatment. Shortly after we ate , we'd begin playing from three until dusk. When vacation came the days repeated themselves . We were happy. We were happy because we plated everyday . We played everyday because we had no responsibilities. We had no responsibilities because we were kids. We were kids because we knew  what we were and whose we were.

As I grew, I peaked out the window only to look at the blue in the sky. The sun slowly awakening. Gold touching the earth.
