Dear Diary,
I was at my best friend Key's house before a concert we were both booked to perform at. We were talking, just maxing and relaxing. Whenever I'm around Key and the rest of the gang, it feels like a family. You know at the family reunion we have the crazy uncles, funny cousins, your favorite auntie. It's just like that, we just have a strong bond and I'm grateful the we are very close knit like this.
But there's one guy I don't think of as a brother, his name is Dell. He has full lips, soft light brown skin, I could just stare all day if I could. He knocked on the door and I got up to answer the door. I almost melted when I saw it was Dell. He looked so good.
"What's up." He said, looking at me even though it felt like his eyes tore through my soul.
"Uh...hey. Um, you coming to the show?" I scratched the back of my head. Smooth one, Dee.
He shot me a smile and said "you know it". I'm just going to keep my composure and act cool.
He asked where Key was, and he was all the way on the other side of the house. As I walked with him, there was an awkward silence.
"I'm guessing you taking pictures tonight?" I said, in an effort to break the tension.
"Yup, it's what I do."
"You better take some good pictures of me then."'I nudged him with my shoulder and looked up at him.
"Oh, I plan to." He gave me one of his many warm smiles, that made me melt a little more. Is he flirting with me or am I reaching?
Later that night, the show was closing up and I was super exhausted after working hard to put on a great show. As I left my dressing room, I spotted Dell. He was flicking through the pictures on his camera, looking at the good shots.
"Did you get those good pictures like you promised?" I said, approaching him.
"Yeah I did, I was actually looking at one of you."
It was a picture of me, pointing at the crowd and smiling.
"It's my favorite one, because the way the lights reflect and make you the center of attention."
It was cute to me that he loved that picture the most, I was extremely flattered.
"I love it too, can I.. give you my number so I can get the performance pictures?"
"Sure," he pulled out his phone and unlocked it for me. I put my contact as jus "Dee" and gave him back my phone.
"Okay, I'm expecting that text tonight!" I told him, walking back into my dressing room to gather my things.
So, skip to the night. It must have taken Dell a while to get home or something but he texted me pretty late, but I didn't stress. I was happy I had his number, and that he texted first.
He sent the picture and put a little message at the end:
"Here ya go sweetface 😊"
Honestly, I just felt the sparks fly. He obviously likes me, I'm just gonna have to make him mine.
