The Company

Chapter Two: Detain

It only took a few minutes of riding for me to sense his mind not far behind me. It only took me a glance over my shoulder, to identify that the Agent was driving a rather cliché giant black van. It had the black tinted windows as well. It was almost straight out of those good cop or FBI movies. That made me smile.

It was hard to follow a motorcycle. That is something that should be pretty obvious. It is increasingly more difficult if that said motorcycle is weaving in and out of traffic, doing illegal stunts that should them a few dozen fines and tickets for. I will deal with that later though. Who knows, maybe SHIELD will help pay for that.

I will admit that even though he is driving a big hulking size of a van, he is doing an incredible job at keeping up with me. It is making this ride out to be more of a game than a chase.

I could tell that he was irritated and mad at himself for getting outed. His thoughts to me sounded childish, and it sounded like when he going back 'home' he was going to get grounded and sent to his room. I got flashes from peeking into his mind that he was going to get laughed at by someone people who he's close to.

I should probably never tell him that I peeked into his head and that was how I found out he was an Agent and was after me. He didn't have very many tells so if it wasn't for his thoughts I wouldn't have realized that he was here for me until it was too late. For once I am actually glad that I have this ability.

Nervousness, was practically rolling off him in waves. On the outside, he may seem strong, even be trained to show no emotions while on the job but your true emotions inside of your head tell you everything that needs to said about what you are feeling. I would like to think that it must be hard on your mind to always have to play an emotionless person while on a mission. That you had to play a different part of yourself and keep another part of yourself hidden away from everyone. I would like to think that it would be exhausting. I sighed, I had to get back on track.

I knew that the Company was ten times worse than SHIELD. To me that means that the Company is obviously counted as the bad guys in this situation. Though while SHIELD may be annoying, they are honestly trying to do the right thing in their own ways. Plus, anyone who what's to get rid of the Company once and for all, in my books they are the good guys... hopefully. I just need to convince them that I am a good guy who is just trying to do the right thing by destroying the Company once and for all. I will just need their help with the heavy lifting, and most likely their resources as well.

When I get to Central park I drive up onto the sidewalk with my bike before shutting off the engine. I was getting some looks of anger from those who were near me to witness my very illegal parking space. Though at the moment I didn't care about their reactions, I would wait until this is over before I decide to laugh about it. I could park my bike in the middle of the road, but that's just asking for someone to run it over. I got off my bike, glancing back over my shoulder at the Agent giving him a wave as he was finally close enough to park his van near my bike. I was basically signing come and get me on my forehead with a sharpie marker.

The park was crowded and if he tried anything to get me to go with him against my will then there would be a lot of witnesses. I'm hoping that some of them would be happy to help me with escaping. If not, then there is a lot of trees that I am sure that I can run and hide behind until I can find my way out of here. When it comes to blending in, I'm amazing at it when I have to be.

Walking straight towards the nearest park bench I take my bike helmet off. I sit down on the right side of a bench, which was closest to the trees, stuffing my hands in my large pockets. I began shifting my shoulders to get the little ache to go away the pain from my wings from being in the tight and cramped position for so long. That is one of the things that I hated about having wings. They hurt if you kept them in too long. The scientists liked to think that it was their way of controlling us, that our bodies would go into some form of shock or something if they were together for too long.
