Chapter Seven: The Memory Stick

Entering the lab, I was met with slight chaos, if chaos meant that the great Tony Stark was having a tantrum causing everyone else in the room to get a headache, then yes chaos. Tony clearly was upset about what I am guessing not being able to crack the code to get the password. No doubt even JARVIS was having trouble getting into it. Must be frustrating for someone who always gets their own way, I thought to myself.

"Anything I may be of assistance with?" I smirk leaning on the open-door frame and I thought I saw everyone in the room physically breathe a sigh of relief now that I am here to help control the situation. It's hilarious that the one person that everyone seems to distrust the most, is the one person that everyone relaxes once they are in the room. Why do they always think I'm the one who should be controlling a full-grown man.

"No I have it." Tony snapped not bothering to turn around to look at me, his back was facing me as he was hunched over typing something into the computer and by my sense of technology he was looking through algorithms trying to hack into the memory stick. It was his tone that was making me raise an eyebrow at him in disbelief. All this attitude over a little memory stick that was password protected. Who would have thought.

"Fine then I guess I won't tell you the password since you must have it all figured out." I say feigning reluctance before turning around to leave. I began counting down from five under my breath, knowing that he would give in and let me help him. I was right, as soon as zero left my mouth he called out a "wait."

Swiveling around on my foot I was met nearly face to face with a desperate and a disheveled Tony. Him being so close made me jump and take a step back so I could focus without him breathing on my face.

"Yes?" I inquired mockingly making his eyes narrow before he brushed a hand through his hair taking a step back then gesturing towards the monitor that he was working at as I walked in. Bruce, Natasha and Steve were gathered at the side of the room all looking exhausted and sent me rather thankful looks.

It's funny to think about the fact that the world's greatest heroes can't even control one of their own teammates, unless they just let him do his thing knowing that anything that they do isn't going to make him stop, but anyway you when think about it, the amusing thought is still there.

Cracking my fingers I walk over towards the monitor and took in a deep breath before looking down at the keyboard.

The company is now targeting me since they must now know of my situation with SHIELD which I know they will somehow try to use that as an advantage. By having the picture of the Flock they are mocking me and I plan on making sure that in the end of all of this, whenever that may be, they will pay.

I have to know the password, they wouldn't have just have left it behind if it wasn't worth something, something to torture me with. To knock down the walls that I have built in the last couple years that I haven't been under their lock and key.

I took the picture out of my back pocket and with shaky hands I unfolded the picture seeing the familiar faces of my Flock, my family. I lightly rubbed my thumb across their faces, sighing.

I looked up at the screen seeing three lines then a space and five more.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Looking back to the picture I flipped it over and read the two words written in messy scrawl on the back. THE FLOCK. They wouldn't have put it there if it wasn't meant to be used. The picture itself is self-explanatory, you don't need to put a label on it without it having more importance than putting it there without a date or location with it. Another way to hurt me, I think to myself.
