Author: Photo above is the same girl from the last chapter, Yukino. Writing this chapter right after finishing the last so we can hopefully get past a lot of the intro stuff and into the juicy parts at the end of this chapter or beginning of the next! Enjoy!

I didn't know whether it was the pain that caused me to black out, or something else, nor had I any clue how long I had been out. My eyes fluttered open slowly, first everything blurry, but then becoming clearer than ever. I never had bad vision, but this was like looking through a microscope, but without being overly close to anything, unless I chose to look at one spot in detail. Kagome was knelt beside me, and if I focused, I could see the details in the fabric of her shirt, without moving at all.
My body was swore, and I had a wicked headache. Nobody had really moved from their position, aside from maybe looking more alert. Everyone was also looking at me with wide eyes.
"What happened?" I murmured, pushing myself onto my elbows.
"There was a spell on your ring to suppress your demon side. My guess is they put a temporary spell when you first transferred over, and then they gave you the ring as a more permanent fix," Kaede explained. She came over, offering me the ring back. "An inscription made itself known when it was broken as well," she added.
I took the ring back and looked at it. "Emiri Itagaki," I read out loud, looking it over, before instinctively putting it back on. "Who is Emiri?"
"I'm not positive, but if I had to guess, it's your true name, and they gave you a more modern name so you'd fit in. Or to protect your identity, I'm not sure which."
I was trying to take this all in, and I glanced at Kagome again, who's eyes were still bugged out like she saw a ghost. "Kagome, you okay? Can you quit looking at me like that? You're freaking me out," I requested.
Wordlessly, Kagome reached into her bag, got out a compact mirror, and handed it to me.
"Did my hair get messed up when I passed out or something?" I asked, confused by the gesture. When I opened it, I understood her expression and why she gave it to me. I looked completely different. Okay, well, not completely but there were some big changes. My ears seemed to have extended and came to a finer point, my eyes were normally a dark brown with gold in the middle were now completely gold like Inuyasha's, and I had two red lines along either side of my cheek, thicker at the base but coming to a fine point just under my eyes. My teeth were sharper, as were my nails, and when I looked at my hand, I saw that I had red cuff-like markings around my wrists and came to a point at the back of my hand. (Author: Think Sesshomaru's cheek markings and arm markings, but only one, and red.)
"What the--" I murmured, nearly dropping the mirror. "It's really true. I'm a demon," I said, barely above a whisper, and I wondered if the others could hear it. I noticed my senses were heightened as well.
"Yep. Full-fledged by the looks of it. Damn, even Kagome's supposed human friend is full, and I'm still a stupid half demon," Inuyasha muttered bitterly.
It was like his words broke Kagome's trance of shock, and she gave him a look. He held up his hands in surrender.
"It's remarkable," Sango commented.
"Does this mean your friend will be joining us, Kagome?" Miroku asked, and I swear I could see the hearts in his eyes. Apparently so could Sango, because she slapped him across the face. "What was that for!?" he asked.
