A/N: I've considered reworking this story to be third person... do you guys like it being in first, or should I make the switch?

Thankfully, they dropped the discussion and left it as it was. While I wanted to see Rin again and remembered the feeling of belonging when I was talking to Sesshomaru, I didn't have any plans to seek him out. However, when I slept that night, I'd be lying if I said my dreams weren't littered with Rin's words - maybe we can be your new family.

I pushed it off in the morning, knowing it wasn't something that would become a reality. I was still trying to find where I belonged in this world, and even trying to adjust to being able to defend myself. I may not have any interest in the Shikon Jewel or any personal reason to want to go after Naraku, but I was in the best group at the moment.

"Hey, Emiri, I was thinking..." Inuyasha started, as we began to get ready to settle out.

"That's never a good sign," I joked, smirking over at him. "What's up?"

He gave me a look that showed he wasn't amused but didn't dignify it with a response.  "It may help you learn to fight on your own if you figured out a weapon for yourself," he suggested, putting his hand on the hilt of the Tessaiga sub-consciously.

My head cocked to the side in thought. Inuyasha had Tessaiga, Kagome had picked up archery, Sango had her giant boomerang, and Miroku had both his staff and wind tunnel... I just had my abilities as a demon. I remembered even seeing Sesshomaru with two swords at his waist. "I don't even know where to start. I don't know anything about weapons... Sesshomaru said my dad was a sword maker, but I still only remember my life as a human, so that won't help me."

"We know a swordsmith by the name of Totosei who could probably assist in getting you a weapon, or making one for you," Miroku suggested.

The name rung a bell, and I remembered Sesshomaru saying it the first time we met. He said that Totosei wasn't the only swordsmith their father worked with. I decided against commenting on that, not wanting to bring up the fact I'd seen him alone after it finally got dropped. I was curious if this Totosei would know anything about my parents... "Is there a way to contact him?"

"He pops up at random, but instead of waiting for the old geezer to decide to surprise us, we could go to him. I know where he works out of," Inuyasha said.

I perked at the thought of not having to wait long. I already felt weak without being able to fight well, maybe he was right and having a weapon would help. "When can we go?" I asked, eagerly.

The half-demon shrugged, "whenever you want. We'd get there a lot faster if we go, just the  two of us though."

It made sense to me since the others usually had to travel on Kirara and Kagome either used her bike or rode on Inuyasha's back. "Think you guys would be okay without us for a bit?" I asked the group.

"I'm sure I can look after us," Miroku said with a not-so-humble smile. I gave him a look and glanced at Sango, her being the one I trusted most to take care of the group. The others could hold their own, but if anyone was actually going to watch out for them, it was probably her.

She slapped Miroku upside the head, rolling her eyes. "We'll be fine. Go ahead," she said, giving me a reassuring smile.

I turned my attention back to Inuyasha expectantly. He got up, resting his hands on his hips. "C'mon," he said, before looking at the others. "We should be back by sundown. Stay outta trouble. It's not that far, but it's far enough that I can come running back to save your asses," he told them.
